Before Jeff could decide what to do, he hears the door bell ring, since he is the only one in the house, it is no surprise when the 16-year-old lets out a groan and mumble, “every time when I am busy,” he lets out a sigh and heads down to open the door.
When Jeff opens the front door, he is surprised to see his best friend “Ken” standing on the porch, smiling. “Hey Jeff,” he says, “I thought I’d surprise you with a spontaneous visit, I see it worked,” he chuckles when he notices the surprised look on Jeff’s face.
“Ken,” Jeff says, he then shakes his head and chuckles, “why do you always have to do this?”
Ken just shrugs and grins, “I just love surprising people.”
Jeff chuckles, he then steps aside, “well, since you are here,” he says, “why don’t you come in?”
Ken does not have to be told twice as he enters the house, “so, what are you up to,” he asks as Jeff closes the door.
Jeff hesitates, ‘should I tell him,’ he asks himself, Ken is a good guy, but he has a weird aura around him, which makes Jeff always feel a little nervous. The teen knows that Ken is unpredictable, Jeff also witnessed Ken commanding a younger kid around and it seemed Ken was enjoying himself. What would Ken do if he’d know that Jeff owns a Chronivac? He might just use it on Jeff, so Jeff decides to not let Ken in on it, feeling that he can’t really trust his friend as much as he would like. “Oh… I… um… was just about to play some Playstation,” he says quickly.
“Sounds good,” Ken says, “I haven’t played in a while.”
“Then let’s have some fun,” Jeff says, smiling, “it is more fun to have a partner than to play solo.”
Ken nods, “why don’t you grab some snacks and I’ll go get the console ready?”
Jeff nods and heads to the kitchen, he then remembers something, “Ken,” he calls, sticking his head out from the kitchen.
Ken is already halfway up the stairs, “what’s up?”
“My Laptop is still running,” Jeff says, “would you mind closing the program I have running and shut down my laptop?”
“Sure,” Ken says.
When Ken arrives in Jeff’s room, he walks over to Jeff’s desk, his eyes widen when he recognizes what “program” Jeff has running. After the shock and surprise have subsided, Ken grins, “so, Jeffy got himself the Chronivac,” he says to himself. The 17-year-old turns towards the door, he then smirks, “I could have some fun with Jeffy,” he says, “OR I could wait until he comes back and ask if he’d like to have some fun with it.”
