"What if I became a Werecat too?" Charlene asked out loud.
"Excuse me?" Samantha asked, blinking in surprise. She hadn't expected Charlene to say that. "Are you sure about that?"
"I don't know yet," Charlene admitted. "But Rachel is going through a lot. Maybe it would help her get through it, but I also... I don't know."
"That's a big decision to make, you shouldn't take it lightly," Samantha said with a shake of her head. "Becoming a Were is a whole process, you would need to find a Werecat willing to transform you. And due to the process, it would be very intimate. You shouldn't just rush into a decision like that. Maybe you should try and get to know the Werecat community in Moon Lake and see how it goes."
"Yeah, I guess that makes sense," Charlene said. She had honestly been thinking about it on and off since she had found out about Werecats. She knew that it was a big decision and that Samantha Twist was right, but it didn't mean that the thought didn't go through her head.
"Look, here's what I'm going to do," Samantha said, taking out a business card and offering it to her. "This is for Doctor Suyin Chen, she's a werecat living in town," she told her and Charlene looked like she was about to say something before she explained. "She's a therapist who specializes in were psychology. In particular she works with new weres who had a particularly traumatic first transformation. She's one of the best, and maybe she can help your daughter."
"Thank you, I'll keep her in mind," Charlene said, taking the card and reading it. "Thank you Mrs. Twist. I just hope that we can help Rachel."
"Just keep doing what you can, make sure she knows she's not alone," Samantha said with a smile. "She's lucky to have a wonderful family."
"Unfortunately we weren't all wonderful," Charlene said sadly. "My ex-husband and his family have pretty much cut us off since it happened."
"Its more than some people have, and I'm glad to know that someone is there for her," Samantha said as she got up. "I should get going, my wife is expecting me home for dinner. And if you need anything else, you can reach me here."
She gives Charlene her own business card and shakes her hand. Charlene watched her go as she headed out of the house. Charlene took a deep breath and returned to the couch. She took a deep breath as she thought about what Samantha Twist had told her. Hopefully she was right, they just had to figure something out.
Charlene checked the time, her daughters would be home soon. She had to figure out what they were having for dinner.
