"She was mostly there to offer her support to help you get used to your Werecat form, it turns out she's a Werecat too," Charlene answered as she remembered back to her meeting with the Town Chancellor.
"Does the Town Chancellor make it a habit of meeting new families?" Mischelle asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Given the existence of the Mandatory Were Law, it honestly wouldn't surprise me," Jasmine said, getting a confused look from Mischelle. "Something else I learned about, its apparently meant as a way to ensure silence, you expose us, your family gets exposed first. Mutually assured destruction."
"I think its more than that," Rachel commented. "I think its a way to help families get acquainted with were life and get used to the fact that they... that we exist. If someone you love becomes a were willingly, then you might be more willing to accept things, or, something maybe, its just a theory."
"Anyway, she told me a bit about what our options would be," Charlene said. "She suggested that you could meet with some of the local Prides that it would help you get used to your new life."
"Cynthia suggested the same thing," Rachel commented.
"Who's Cynthia? Your girlfriend?" Jasmine said teasingly.
"She's just a friend, and the DM of the game," Rachel said quickly. "I mean she's cute but... I don't know, I'm not sure if I'm ready for another relationship yet. But we're interrupting mom again, let her finish before we talk, okay? I'm not sure about joining a Pride yet though honestly, its something I'm still thinking about."
"Yes, thank you Rachel," Charlene said with a chuckle. "And that's understandable. We'll figure out what to do next from here. Mrs. Twist also suggested that you meet with a Doctor Chen, she's apparently a therapist who specializes in cases like yours."
Rachel went quiet for a moment as she thought about it. She honestly didn't know what to think about that.
