All light was sucked out of the world in an instant, the rippling energy splintering across the landscape like a wave. You braced yourself as the light engulfed you and then crashed down over you. Your body tingled and boiled. sparks lunching off your clothing as you were thrown to the ground battered and bruised. You tumbled and then rolled onto harsh, rocky ground. Winded, you strangled up onto all fours as the light faded and the world cooled.
You glanced upwards, to where the light had originated, felt your stomach snarl. Behind a thick curtain of mist stood a tall and foreboding structure. It's details were ornate, and yet teeth-like in their sharpness. It's paint was dark and frayed, and the stones that founded it mossy, weathered and older than bones. It's garden was nourished by the corpses of those unfortunate and adjacent to the property was a graveyard vast and densely packed with graves.
It was a mansion, probably from the 19th century although you were no expert. You felt a shiver down your spine as you stood up. Feeling the wind curl across your flesh, you released you were naked. You looked down, absently mindedly picking off the chard fragments of your clothing as you tried to make sense of the world. Then reality hit you, and blushed. Attempting to cover your modesty, you shifted and looked around the property to find it seemingly abandoned.
"Well, at least I have privacy," You said though gritted teeth.
The air was crisp and was getting colder. Turning round again, feeling prying eyes from behind the encroaching darkness, you shuffled awkwardly towards the door. You came to a set of orange, dark doors and found they were locked. Cursing, you kicked your bare foot against the doormat and heard a faint 'clink!'
You looked down and found you had discovered a golden key!
"A-Ha!" You said, picking up the key.
You stepped into the doorway and, feeling a gnawing sense of panic, slammed the door behind you. Naked and alone within an empty Mansion you decided what to do.
