*The 7 year old lawyer needs her coworker to take her to the bathroom because she is minutes away from having an accident.*
Looking up Bill saw Ella was now looking back at him. She was still squirming, but she wasn't on the phone anymore. Instead she nervously addressed him, "Officer Arce could you please take me to the bathroom?"
Bill was a bit perplexed. On one hand, considering how awful a father she apparently thought he was, Bill figured she must feel truly desperate to ask him for help which was amusing. Why she was asking him and not being led off by some poor paralegal like he had expected, was something he wasn't quite sure of.
Deciding to play along, he agreed then had to hold back laughter as the reduced lawyer reached for his hand so he could lead her down the hall. He was still holding her card and went to put it away where he saw it now listed her as an Assistant District Attorney.
As he led her down the hall, he was glad to understand the change and glad to no longer have the untrustworthy brat as his attorney. But if she was now a prosecutor for the city why were they here today? And how would this affect his divorce?
"So what do we have left to do today?" Bill asked hoping she would be able to answer the first question.
"Please call me Ms. Wittle and did you really forget you're here to testify in the Roberts Case?" The girl asked incredulously.
"Of course not," Bill snapped irritated at her tone, "I just wanted to make sure you weren't to busy trying not to pee yourself that you forgot!"
The girl immediately quieted, her cheeks flush with embarassment as several people turned to look at them. That wasn't enough for Bill though. No one talked to him like that. Looking back to the phone in his other hand he loaded a new sentence.
*The 7 year old prosecutor doubted Officer Arce's version of events in the case.*
He scowled not only did she think he was a bad father, she also thought he was a dirty cop. Maybe she still needed to be brought down a peg or two.
*The 4 year old prosecutor doubted Officer Arce's version of events in thr case.*
Feeling the smaller hand and hearing the sound of the reduced lawyer struggling to keep up with him, Bill turned around and gave a condescending smile to Ella, "Are you sure you don't want me to carry you?"
To his satisfaction, the still visibly embarrassed girl didn't refuse outright. Instead in her bunched up little face, he could tell she was actually considering it.
