Ryan pulls out his phone and scans the “Mare”, he then pulls up the “Mare’s” file and starts to type. After a few minutes, Ryan looks up at Dan, “all set,” he says, “all I need to do is to confirm the fixes.” He tilts his head, when he notices something, “Dan, you look as if you have second thoughts,” he says, “what’s wrong?”
Dan looks at Ryan, he then sighs, “actually, the Mare is not mine,” he says.
Ryan looks confused, “what do you mean?”
“I mean, that my son Ken has rented out the Horse to attend the Horse Race this coming weekend,” Dan says.
Ryan raises an eyebrow, he turns to look at the “animal”, “with that body, she won’t be accepted as a Race Horse, even though her muscles look normal, her hooves will be the issue,” he says, “for one: the hooves don’t look right, they look more like human feet and hands, and second: she has no Horseshoes to protect her hooves.”
Dan nods, “I realized that,” he says, “I don’t know why Ken wants to use this… this… freak.”
“I can still cure her,” Ryan says.
“I don’t know,” Dan says, “what if the original owners don’t want it? I really don’t want to get into some legal troubles.”
“Who are the people,” Ryan asks, “did Ken show you some paperwork?”
Dan shakes his head, “I honestly did not ask him about that,” he says.
Ryan sighs, “okay, you should first talk to Ken and the owners of this horse,” he says, “if they give their blessing, I can still cure her later.”
Dan nods, “yeah, let’s do that,” he says.
“Okay, fine,” Ryan says, “let me just check if she is chipped, maybe we can figure out who the owners are.”
“Okay,” Dan says.
Ryan puts his phone away, he then takes out a small white box and turns it on, he holds the device to Jeff’s neck and moves it up and down, but the device does not give of a sound. “I thought so,” Ryan says, putting the device down, “it would have surprised me if those… people had chipped her.”
“Why wouldn’t they chip her,” Dan asks.
Ryan looks at Dan, “would you chip your horse if you’d have created it out of some illegal DNA experiment?”
“I… I guess not,” Dan agrees, “good point. I’ll ask Ken if he has some sort of documentation.”
“Or we could cure her anyway, and Ken nor the original owners would notice,” Ryan says, “I could also implant a GPS-Tracking device in her. We could find out who the owners of this horse are and have them legally prosecuted. There is a third option, I could chip her and implant the tracking device in her, she would belong to you legally!”
Dan raises an eyebrow, “how is that supposed to work?”
Ryan grins, “the Chronivac has the function to alter the reality,” Ryan says, “I can set it so everyone, except you and me, think that this horse has always belonged to you, of course after I have cured her!”
Dan’s eyes widen, “that sounds like a great idea,” he says, he then looks at Ryan and grins, “do it! Let’s give this poor animal a better and happier life!”
Ryan smiles and pulls out his phone, “my words exactly,” he says, “she deserves better. Let me cure her with the App, then I shall program the chip with your information and inject it into her neck, along with the GPS-Tracking-Chip.”
“Is there an GPS-Tracking-App,” Dan asks.
Ryan nods, “the App is called “Pet Tracker”,” he says, he then grabs something out of his bag and holds it out.
When Dan looks, he notices a small black box, not bigger than a penny, “is that the GPS-Tracker-Unit,” he asks.
Ryan nods, “first, I’ll sterilize and numb an area on the Mare’s neck,” he explains, “then I’ll cut a small triangular hole and implant the box. I’ll fixate the box to one of the neck vertebrae’s bones with tiny screws, I think C4 or C5, this will make sure the box stays put.”
“Sounds good to me,” Dan says.
“While I do that, you can download and install the App,” Ryan says, “then once I have stitched up the wound, you can sync your phone with the box, then you are able to track her no matter where she is.”
Dan smiles, “perfect,” he says.
“Then let’s get started,” Ryan says, he opens the Chronivac-App and gets ready to “cure” the “Mare”, both men unaware that the “Mare” is actually Jeff: a human teenager who got changed by his friend Ken.
While the conversation occurred between the two men, Jeff had not paid them any attention, he is still recovering from the mental shock of being examined like an animal by a Vet. ‘I can’t believe I got examined by a Vet,’ he thinks to himself, ‘why did I agree to this? I really should have thought about this before telling Ken about the program and letting him decide. I’d rather be a girl than some animal! This is hell, humiliating and embarrassing!’
