"My prince, I am so glad you are safe and sound," whispered the woman. Jas stared up at her curiously. "Oh, I forgot I disguised myself. It is Anya."
"Anya?" Jas squeaked in relief. Now that he knew, her recognized the face of his favorite concubine, despite her darker hair. Anya nodded. "Why did you disguise yourself?"
"I worried I would be put to work as a witch by the rebels if my hair was still yellow. I have used my magic to darken it for now. And I think I will do the same for you. You no longer appear to be the prince, but you are still obviously of royal birth." Anya ran her fingers through Jas's hair. A strange feeling, like water dripping on him, followed. "There. Now your hair is dark brown."
"Thank you. Your amulet truly saved me," Jas confessed. "Though I do question turning me into a diapered child."
"I knew not exactly what it would change you to. I only set the spell to make you what would be best to escape," Anya replied. She laid Jas down on his back. "Now, please be still so I may change you."
"I don't feel very comfortable with this," Jas protested. He truly did not want his beautiful concubine to change his dirty diaper. Anya sighed. She looked at a nearby woman wearing the uniform of a child tender.
"Lyssa, do you have a dummy for this boy? He will not stay still for his change." The woman, Lyssa, chuckled and produced a pacifier from a pocket. Before Jas could protest, Anya popped the dummy into his mouth. Instinct took over and he began to suckle. The pacifier was soothing, which Has needed as Anya removed his soiled diaper and carefully wiped him down. He shivered from the damp cloth used to clean him. After what felt like ages, Anya pinned a fresh diaper on him.
"My prince, to escape you must seem a regular toddler," she hissed. "They will allow us to leave soon, but we must not raise any suspicions. Once we have arrived at my family's home in Wind's Grove, I will return you to normal and we shall plan for you to retake the throne. Until then, you must behave like a regular child of your new age."
"I don't know if I can," Jas mumbled around the pacifier.
"In that case, I can cast a spell to make you act like a regular toddler when you are around people other than me. I understand if you are reluctant to do that, but if you cannot act the part on your own, I will have to help you. Otherwise, we will never leave."
"I see..."
"So?" Anya asked. "Can you pretend or do you need the spell?"
