The sniffing stopped as the Pomeranian bit the Pekingese playfully. She yelped and bit him back. The two dogs continued barking and chasing each other. First the Pomeranian nipped at the Pekingese's heels, then they reversed, with the Pomeranian yipping loudly as the Pekingese followed hot on his heels.
Another vase was knocked over with a smash. Then the Pomeranian threw open a suitcase, and the Pekingese rushed through it, tossing clothes all over, running as fast as her stubby little legs allowed. They collided with each other in a little ball of fur, biting and yelping. The Pomeranian grabbed the tablecloth and pulled it down, dropping everything onto the floor. The Pekingese tore at the bedsheets.
*You weren't kidding. They're going to tear the room apart*, said Gloria, getting increasingly nervous.
*They're probably running on autopilot. Dogs have a lot of energy to burn*, said Rosa calmly.
*I don't want them to take it out on us*.
*Trust me, they'll leave soon. This ain't my first rodeo*.
*You worry me sometimes*.
Sure enough, after having inflicted sufficient damage on the room, the dogs went back to chasing each other. Then they broke off and ran out the door through the flap. Gloria and Rosa could hear them barking and yipping all the way down the corridor before they were out of earshot.
*Wow. That was something*.
*Let's see another room*, said Rosa, skittering out into the open. Gloria followed, curiosity overwhelming her.
*So we'll only see animal transformations here?*
*Animal or gender*, corrected Rosa. *The Gender rooms have only the ability to change gender, but the Animal wings have that plus the wide variety of the animal world.*
*I see.*
Scurrying into the hallway, they slipped under the next door to find an empty room. Rosa immediately turned around and went for the next room alongside it. This time it was occupied.
*Damn, we missed the show*, said Rosa. In the middle of the room, surrounded by torn clothes and smashed furniture, two horses were going at it. Quite enthusiastically too.
*At least the room's big enough for them to fit on top of each other. They made even more of a mess than Brent and Kayla*.
*Good thing I won't be the one cleaning it*, said Rosa smugly. *Check it out. Look at their wrists.*
*Their... wrists?* Gloria looked at the horses' forelegs. It took her a moment, but the stallion had golden bracelets on - and now that she noticed that, hoop earrings as well. The mare had a masculine wristwatch. *Oh, wow.*
*Living the dream*.
*Amazing. Well, next room I guess*.
Giving the mating horses some privacy, Rosa and Gloria scooted out into the hallway once more. This time though, they saw a small crowd at the end of the hall.
*Oh, you're gonna like those. They came in today*, said Rosa.
*Who?*
*A fraternity and a sorority. Looks like they ended up with neighboring rooms too.*
As the group approached, Gloria could see there were several women on one side and several men on the other side. They were teasing and jeering at each other. And approaching fast.
*Well, think fast. Wanna follow one or the other?*
