Just before Max used his weapon, Amara's eyes glowed and he saw a flash before his eyes. When Max opened his eyes again, he looked around and saw that he wasn't in the store anymore, but in a dark void with no one around him.
"Where....? Where am I?" Max asked in a scared voice.
"Do you know something everyone has in common?" Amara's voice could be heard with an echo, but Max couldn't see her as he looked around from all sides.
"Where are you?!" Max demanded to know.
"No, answer my question. Now!" Amara shouted.
"I...I don't know, what is it?!"
"Fear." Amara answered.
"Everyone has a fear. The fear of feeling small...." Amara said as Max looked up to see both Nat and Amara giant compared to him as he ran away while the two of them tried to step on him.
Max ran a little more until he looked back and saw that he wasn't being followed anymore.
"The fear of monsters...." Amara said as Max saw the back of Nat, though as she turned around, her face was that of a fearsome vampire.
"But what everyone fears most is being forgotten, alone, and there is no one there for you. That's what you are, you are a scared little man afraid of being alone, forgotten. Don't worry, I'll make sure you're never forgotten about again." Amara said as Max felt her grab her by the arms and lift her up as her jaw extended so Max would fit inside of her mouth.
"NO, please! please, I won't shrink or hurt anyone again, I promise!!!!" Max shouted as he suddenly opened his eyes.
When Max opened his eyes again, he was surrounded by some teenage girls and women who looked to be of college age.
"Uh....I guess an apology isn't going to be enough?" Max asked politely.
Dee stepped forward and cracked her knuckles.
"Nope, but we're all going to beat the shit out of you, until you pass out, then we'll all think of what to do afterwards." Dee said as she gave him a nice punch in the face first while the other women began taking turns.
Nat, Rei, Amara, and Miranda all began leaving the store together, but not before destroying Max's shrink gun. They had de-shrunk all the women in the store and used magic to undo the ones Max had turned into dolls.
"Thank god, that nightmare is over." Rei said with a relief.
"Good thing, I figured out how to use that asshole's shrink gun to un-shrink everyone. They all knew how to undo the doll ones, that was convenient.
"Yeah, a creepy guy who shrinks people is nothing compared to vampires or Kane. Speaking of, why were you guys in there?" Nat asked them.
"Oh, that was me, I wanted to get you something for our 3 month anniversary." Miranda admitted and showed Amara the unicorn she had gotten from her bag.
"Oh, Mi Amore. You know, it's beautiful. But just you being my hero is enough." Miranda said as she put the unicorn away and gives Amara the best kiss the two of them shared in months.
