Jen's heart was racing. The seconds ticked by. She was running out of time.
"Transform!" Jen blurted out. Her heartbeat pounded in her ears.
"I was hoping you'd choose that," Kyle said. "For your curse, Jen, starting at midnight on Monday and lasting until 11pm, every hour on the hour, you'll transform randomly. Then, you will have to live with your transformation for a week, until you revert back to normal at 9pm on Sunday. The transformations will never be fatal, even if they would normally be. Say, your heart gets replaced by a sponge, you won't die. You just won't a heartbeat for a week." He paused.
"And when I say random, I truly mean random. Personality, physical form, anything could change. Body parts replaced, removed. Animal body parts. Inanimate objects. Merging. Personality. Anything from as small as a 1mm growth in your nails to becoming a stegosaurus could happen for your first hour's change, let alone the next 23. Or perhaps each of your limbs becomes one, leaving you in the middle. Who knows, anything's possible!"
Jen was frozen. She couldn't believe what she was hearing.
"Once you've completely changed for the week, no one will remember you as being anything else. Week to week, history will rewrite itself to match whatever your body is that week. You'll retain all of your memories, even if your brain becomes literal goo. And, seeing as it's already 7:15 on a Monday, I think you have some catching up to do! See you at school, Jennifer. Good luck with your new body!"
Kyle hung up. All Jen could do was stand there, her mind racing. However, a blinding light and a wave of red-hot pain flashed through her body. 7 changes happening at once, and the only thing she felt was fear.
