Felix and Asher looked at each other, exchanging silent looks before responding to Whitney's offer. "Thanks for the offer, but we'll have to pass. We already ate on our way over here and we have some unpacking to do," Felix said, nodding his head.
"If any of you are interested however, we could definitely use some help unpacking our belongings. We would be grateful for the assistance, and it would give us a chance to get to know our human neighbors better," Asher chimed in, looking over at you.
"It'd be a good idea to help your new neighbors out Benji." Your mother suggests. "Anyways, you're the only boy in the family, It'd be worth meeting some other guys."
"Sure, I'd be happy to help," You tell the two badgers.
"Thank you Benji, we could certainly use your help." Asher answers.
"Don't be too long Benji, we'll save dinner for you." Your mom wishes you well as you wave goodbye, heading off with the two mustelids.
"What brings you here of all places?" You ask.
"My Job Transferred me here." Felix answers. "I work for a mining company."
"And you Asher?" You ask his nephew, the European Badger.
"I took a job here for the summer." He answers. "I knew my uncle would be living here, so it was a straightforward decision to move in with him."
"How's your family?" Asher returned a question to you.
"I'm the only boy in the family." You begin to elaborate "I have 3 sisters and my mom. Dad died when I was little."
"That's tough Benji, I'm sorry." Felix sends his condolences.
The three of you walk into the house. The blinds are closed. Everything is still boxed up.
"What is this town like?" Asher asks.
"It's a town that has had hard times, but it is still a charming one." You tell the nephew. "There is a bigger city a few hours away and that has a lot to do over there."
"I bet." Asher notes. "Felix said he wanted to move there at first but house prices were a bit much for him." The two of you begin unboxing everything in the house. You put up a lamp, as well as some more fragile decorations. While the two badgers reassemble the furniture. You put the electronics in place, and like that the house is unboxed.
"Good work kid." Felix compliments. You then take a rest on the couch, as you begin to feel fur beginning to grow on your body. Your mind becomes cloudy, as your ears begin to move and reshape and a muzzle develops, Claws and paw pads form on your hands and feet as you take your socks and shoes off.
