In this fantastical world, magic, spells, and potions are a common occurrence. Some children are born with unique abilities like telekinesis or hyper-intelligence, while others are born without any magical powers. Main street is lined with potion and spell stores alongside clothing outlets, and schools offer a range of elective magic-based subjects alongside traditional science degrees and research. Our story begins with Tom Miller, our protagonist who is a rarity born with the superpower do do whatever he wished, and his classmate, Zeke Johnson, who was born with no abnormal abilities.
Class had just ended and you gathered your books, shuffling towards the door with the rest of the class. You couldn't help but steal a glance at Zeke Johnson, the popular jock in your class who had a way of making your heart skip a beat.
As you all filed out of the room, you found yourself walking closer to him, hoping to catch his eye. You couldn't believe you had a crush on someone like him - athletic, outgoing, and seemingly out of your league. But something about his confidence and charm drew you in.
As you stepped out into the hallway, you stole one more look in his direction, catching his eye for a brief moment before he turned to join his friends. You sighed, knowing that your chances with him were slim to none.
The rest of the class began to draw away as they went their separate ways to other classes, or their lockers. Zeke came up from behind and slung his arm around your shoulder, his hand resting on your arm. You could feel him close, his warm body next to yours.
You were about to ask what he was doing, but before you could say anything, he pressed a bottle to your lips and poured its contents into your mouth. Your instincts took over, and you reflexively swallowed the liquid in the bottle.
After he moved the bottle away from your lips, you turned to face him, curious about what had just happened. He met your gaze, his eyes revealing an indescribable expression, and then placed his thumb under your chin to tilt your head back, and parted your lips by opening your jaw. He then leaned in and spat a wad of saliva into your open mouth. Again, you swallowed, but this time it was less from instinct and more a strange desire that made you do so.
After a moment of silence, he finally opened his mouth and spoke, but what Zeke said wasn't the explanation you were expecting. "Jump," he said without breaking his eye contact. Your legs moved on their own, bending and propelling you into a sudden jump without any hesitation.
Even though it left you feeling confused and worried, Zeke seemed to be pleased by what had happened, a seductive smile slowly spreading across his attractive face.
He turned and began to walk away from you, heading towards his car as the questions raced through your mind. Why had Zeke, the popular jock from your class, suddenly approached you like that and then just walked away? And what was the purpose of the bottle he made you drink from? Your mind was feeling more confused than it had ever felt, until you started following him to his car.
You got into the car and sat next to him in silence. Neither of you spoke, as you were unsure of what to say, and he didn't seem surprised by your presence, almost as if he had been expecting it. He drove out of the parking lot and left the school behind, taking you away.
