Morgana had a very busy morning and not much rest last night. Setting up that portal to Japan took a lot out of her. And she'll still need to prepare that testicle-restoration potion later and set up another portal to Oklahoma. At least that wasn't as draining as the one to Japan. But right now, she needed to recover her strength. Fortunately, her daughter and apprentice, Vivienne, was well-experienced in running the shop and taking care of most magic business that didn't require a full master. Right now, Morgana just wanted to take a long nap.
However, there was one small obstacle. Pearl Clearstream met Morgana on the stairs and asked, "Mrs. Faye, are you busy right now?"
"I'm going to be busy sleeping," said Morgana, "And please, it's Ms. Faye. I haven't had a husband in years."
"Well, I've been thinking about how I want to be something other than a mermaid," said Pearl, "Something a little more versatile. And I was thinking of becoming a wereotter."
"Really? You weren't thinking of becoming a selkie?" asked Morgana dryly.
"And allow some human to steal my skin and force me to be his wife?" asked Pearl, "How does anyone expect those kind of marriages to work out?"
"Yes, theft, blackmail, and kidnapping aren't the best foundations for a relationship," said Morgana, "Of course, times have changed and men aren't as likely to force selkies into marriage. But then, selkies have become a lot better at hiding their skins."
"But I'm not interested in being a wereseal, I want to be a wereotter," said Pearl.
"Of course. I might have something around the shop that can help with that, I think," said Morgana.
"You think?" asked Pearl.
"I haven't gotten enough sleep recently and it's hard to think," said Morgana, "Vivi is more than capable of looking through the inventory for something. If not, I know a summer camp run by wereotters who may be able to help."
"A summer camp?" asked Pearl.
"Ask Vivi, I need to nap now," said Morgana crossly.
"Sorry," said Pearl, "We'll try not to disturb you."
"See that you don't," said Morgana before heading up to her room.
Pearl went down the stairs and went over to Vivi. "Well, I think your mom approves, but I don't think she's going to help out right now," she said.
"Even witches need to sleep," said Vivi, "But don't worry, I can fill in for her. It shouldn't be that hard." She went back to the storage room and took a look inside. There were quite a lot of boxes of magical artifacts. "Of course, it may take a while."
