As Charlene opened the oven to put in the pizza, the doorbell rang. She sighed a bit as she slid it in and turned on the timer, heading for the door as she heard the doorbell ring again. "I'm coming, I'm coming, hold your horses," she said as she unlocked the front door and opened it.
Standing there leaning against the wall is a young woman with short red hair and dressed in a black leather jacket over a t-shirt with "Bad Kitty" written on it and torn jeans. She smiled at Charlene, and she swore she saw her eyes turn feline for a second in the dim light. "Are you Ms. Covaks?" She asked in a British accent.
"Uh, yeah, who are you?" Charlene asked, blinking a bit in confusion.
"Isabelle Richards, my friends call me Izzy," she answered and held a hand out. Charlene smiled politely and shook her hand. "It's always nice to meet newcomers to town."
"Can we help you with something?" Charlene asked.
"Actually, I was hoping to help you," Izzy said, her smile turning a bit sad. "I'm part of one of the prides that lives around here. We, heard about what happened from some of our members. I understand if your daughter isn't ready to join a Pride yet, but I was wondering if maybe I could at least talk to her. We're having a gathering tonight, and if it would help her get used to being a werecat, we were thinking she might want to come to at least learn a bit more about things."
"That would be up to her," Charlene replied as she looked upstairs. "You can go talk to her if you want, but I can't guarantee she will be willing to go. I'll go up and ask her real quick, okay?"
"Okay," Izzy said as she nodded.
The two women headed upstairs together, with Charlene looking back at Izzy on occasion. She wasn't sure what to think of this, but maybe it would at least help Rachel a bit. If she had a chance to help Rachel, then she at least needed to give it to her. She knocked on her eldest daughter's door.
"Rachel, it's mom, there's someone here who wants to speak with you," she said and after a moment, Rachel came to the door and opened it, shooting a confused look at Izzy.
"Another werecat?" She asked curiously. She hadn't expected another werecat to just show up at her house, this was kind of weird. "Is everything okay?"
"My name is Izzy, andI just wanted to invite you to the Pride's gathering tonight," Izzy said with a smile as she looked Rachel over. She had to admit the girl was cute, but she had to put that to the back of her mind right now.
"I'm, not sure if I'm ready to join one yet," Rachel told her, playing with a strand of black hair. "I'm still kind of getting used to life in Moon Lake and as a Werecat."
"I know, but you have to have a lot of questions," Izzy said. "And you don't have to join tonight. We're just offering you a chance to learn more about what it means to be a werecat. I know that you might not be ready yet, but if it would help you then we'd like to at least have you come."
Rachel paused a moment as she thought about it. She had been thinking about that earlier. Maybe this wouldn't be a bad thing, at least going to the gathering would give her a chance to learn more about Werecats. And maybe that was for the best. After today, she did need to know more, so, what should she do?
