Jess went back to looking over vials, this time deciding what she wanted to take. She couldn't help stealing a glance at Mary every few seconds, however. Her best friend, in the last few minutes, had transformed into both a cat and chocolate. Two of Jess' most favorite things in the world. She found it hard to resist thinking about Mary and focusing on picking her own transformation.
Meanwhile, Mary was pacing back and forth between the bed and where she had thrown her clothes. She figured she might as well toss them somewhere out of the way while they had their transforming fun. She bent over to scoop up the pile when a drip passed in front of her eyes and landed with a splat on her pants. She felt her forehead, and to her surprise it was sweating.
But chocolate doesn't sweat, she thought to herself. Oh no...but it melts!
"Jess!" the catgirl screamed. "I'm melting!"
"Calm down, Mary," Jess said. "Acting like the Wicked Witch won't help me pick one of these any faster."
"No, I'm actually melting! It's too hot in here for chocolate!"
Jess turned to her friend and realized she was right. Mary's forehead had softened up, and lines of chocolate were slowly oozing down her feline face. "Okay, don't worry. I'll just turn on the air conditioning."
"Forget about it, this room gets really hot anyway. Let's take this down to the kitchen. At least if I melt there, you won't have to worry about getting chocolate out of a rug."
Jess carried the vials downstairs and Mary followed behind, leaving faint chocolate pawprints on the steps as she went. When they got to the kitchen, Jess set the box on the counter and adjusted the thermostat accordingly.
"Feeling better?" Jess asked.
"Yeah," Mary replied. "Though I've softened up a bit." She regarded her slimy body with disdain. Jess thought she looked even better all sleek and shiny. She grabbed a roll of paper towels and started patting down the catgirl.
