“You will not be an only child much longer,” Conrad cooed at Jess as he changed her diaper. Jess merely giggled in response. Anya couldn’t see what was happening; she could only hear them with the specific charm she had cast. But she was getting worried, and that worry only grew as Conrad continued to speak. “Young Jasper will be your brother once I marry your mother.”
“Mama?” Jess asked.
“Yes, your mama. Soon, I will be your papa. After all, your mama will have no choice but to marry me once I impregnate her. And then when your mama gives birth, you will have two younger siblings! What do you think of that, Jess?” Jess giggled again. “You are such a charming, sweet child. I look forward to seeing you grow.”
Conrad returned shortly with Jess in a fresh diaper. Anya forced a smile as Conrad handed the former Prince to her.
“Thank you for changing her,” Anya said.
“It is no problem. She seems to smell less lately.”
“Yes, I think diversifying her diet has helped,” Anya lied.
“Milk, Mama?” Jess chirped. Anya forced a soft laugh.
“Though she does not want to fully leave behind her nursing days.” Anya bared a breast and brought Jess up to the available nipple. She didn’t miss the way Conrad eyed her naked breast. “Would you be willing to bring me some applesauce? Jess does better when given solids after nursing.”
“Of course,” Conrad said. To Anya’s horror, he then kissed the top of her head, before leaving the room. Anya sat in shock, her mind racing. Her magic still wasn’t back to normal, so she had to continue having sex with Conrad. She could try to find another man, but she knew none of the men in the closest town, and word might have spread by now of her nightly activities with Conrad. Soon, her magic would be strong enough for her and Jess to leave. But until then, she had to ensure Conrad did not force her into marriage.
The first step would be to determine if she was pregnant or not. Conrad shot immense amounts of his seed into her womb, even larger amounts than Prince Jasper. It was not unlikely she was carrying his child. If she wasn’t, which she prayed was the case, then it would be a simple enough charm to prevent pregnancies. She was most familiar with the charm; she had used it not just on herself but also other concubines in the Prince’s harem. None of her harem sisters had wished to be impregnated for fear of losing their place as the Prince’s lover.
Once Jess finished nursing, Anya would request Conrad feed the former Prince applesauce. While he tended to Jess, Anya would duck away to perform the spell to detect pregnancy. All she could do was hope she was not with child.
