Eva's children were growing up, passing the age where any wacky toy off the selves would satisfy them. Her daughter Minnie was a book worm, hoping to take classes in engineering. Her twin brother, Mikey, lived for camping, and listened intensely to scout master lessons on how to survive in the wind. And like kids their age, they couldn't stand being in the same room.
But the stresses of life was always getting worse. And she'd blanked on getting them gifts for their birthday! On the way home from work, she'd stopped by a small to hopefully find something, and without better options, she'd gone into a curio shop. Behind the counter was a man in a bathrobe and nightcap with glued on glitter stars. There was a sign next to the register with the words 'He's A Wizard.'
She quickly picked the first two things that felt right. A 'build your own goblin ray gun' for Minnie, and a 'roughing it, gremlin hammer.' She quickly paid for her purchases (that happened to be the exact amount of cash she had on her), and hurried home.
The party had thankfully gone without any hitches, and both youths accept their gifts with a surprising amount of maturity.
As both youths assembled their new possessions in their opposing rooms, both read the instructions that came with their strange new toys.
On the cover was a short stack green creature with bat ears, red eyes, black claws, a mouth full of fangs, and a large nose.
"Enjoy your new gobbo ray gun to turn people into technology loving and totally unclothe short green fantasy creatures. 'Please note, the gobbo-ray-gun must be fired into the eyes of the subject directly, not though television or cameras. Also, the target must be able to SEE the light of the beam."
On the cover of Mikey's box was a odd purple creature with arms, legs, a pairs of batwings, scales, looking like a cross between a bat and a snake with scales and fur, skinny arms and legs, a huge head and red spiky back.
"With the gremlin hammer, transform people into technology dismantling agents of chaos! Notice! The gremlin hammer must be struck on the head of the subject (skull or jaw) directly, not though secondary vibrations. The target must be able to feel the strike."
