After awhile of talking, the meeting seemed to be winding down. Rachel had been surprised at how nice the whole thing had been. For the first time since she had been transformed she had started to really feel like she belonged among Werecats. While she didn't know if she wanted to join this Pride specifically yet, she did know that maybe finding a pride wouldn't be so bad after all. For now though, she would just enjoy herself a bit.
"It was nice having you here, Rachel," Angela said as everyone started to get ready to leave. "Did you have a good evening?"
"Yeah, it gave me a lot to think about," Rachel said as she looked at the other werecats. "It certainly gave me a chance to learn more about what happened to me. Thank you for letting me join you for the night."
"Of course," Angela said. "If you ever want to join us, just let me know, okay?"
"Okay, I'll think about it," Rachel said as she started to head out of the backyard when she felt a hand on her shoulder. She turned to look at Cynthia who gave her a smile.
"Can we talk?" She asked.
"Uh, yeah, I was going to head home, but we can talk," Rachel said. "Do you want to walk home with me or..."
"I'll walk home with you, if that's okay... I'll figure out a ride," Cynthia said with a nod.
Rachel returned back to her human form as the two started to walk together. Rachel looked at Cynthia, trying not to stare too much at the redhead. "Tonight was interesting, I certainly learned a lot more than I thought I would."
"That's good," Cynthia said with a soft smile. "Angela and her family have always been nice to me. While I'm still deciding what pride I want to join, it would be nice to have a chance to join the same as my family."
"Yeah, I can imagine," Rachel chuckled a bit. "Are there any others you're considering?"
"There's a Pride that's a sort of sorority on campus called Delta Phi, they're quite friendly and I've made a few friends there," Cynthia answered, getting a strange look from Rachel. "Don't worry, they're not... completely the stereotype of a Sorority or Fraternity. But, yeah, there are options. I suppose it was a happy coincidence that we happened to meet here."
"Yeah, it was," Rachel said with a chuckle. "Though my sisters are going to tease me about this to no end."
"They will?" Cynthia asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Uh... yeah, anyway!" Rachel said, quickly changing the subject. "What did you want to talk about?"
"I, ummm... this is embarrassing..." Cynthia said, a bit embarrassed as she played with a strand of red hair. "I was... wondering if... you wanted to get dinner together sometime."
Rachel blushed a bit at that. "Are you asking me out on a date?"
"What, no, I uh..." Cynthia said, though Rachel could smell that she was a little aroused still. "I just was thinking that maybe, we could, you know, talk? I'd like to learn more about you outside of the game on Mondays or the pride meetings. If you, don't mind at least... I know you're still getting used to things here and after what happened with your ex... I just, thought it might help, you know?"
Rachel looked at Cynthia as they stopped in front of her house. She honestly didn't know what to think about that, but maybe it wouldn't hurt, right? Cynthia seemed so nice, and it wouldn't hurt. Plus she was pretty cute, even if it wasn't a date... right?
"Okay, we can do that sometime," Rachel said.
"Sure! We'll work it out," Cynthia said as she leaned in and gave Rachel a kiss on the cheek just as the door opened and Charlene came out.
"Rachel, how did the... am I interrupting something?" Charlene asked with a chuckle as she saw the redhead kissing her daughter on the cheek.
"What? No, we were just... talking..." Rachel said, blushing more as Cynthia laughed.
