Spring break had finally arrived at Animalia and its colonies. Some were taking advantage of this by going out of town, with Miles heading to Australia to do coverage. Other people, mainly the tourists, were heading to Animalia and its colonies for various reasons, not the least of which being the well-muscled (and in some cases, well-curved) Animalians, so the Animalia PD were having as many officers on standby as possible, not just for the drunken louts, but also for the possibility of tourists bringing drugs (legal, illegal, or otherwise) with them. Of course, there would be a few things that would be different this Spring Break.

Miles would be heading on to Australia after a brief stopover in Mieni for refueling. However, both his parents and Lexia would be staying for the Break, and Lexia would be doing the coverage of both Spring Break and the donated cruise ship, so Miles would be heading to Australia on his own (not counting Khan and Marla), but Miles was looking forward to the colony.

Because California was still getting hammered by atmospheric rivers, A lot of people were moving, at least temporarily, inland. And one of the more popular locations was undoubtedly Lyre/Animalia. Because of the levee breach and flood in Northern California, another Bachelor/Bachelorette Auction was being organized to help the relief effort there. While most of the money was being sent to the flood relief, a smaller portion would go toward the new Animalia "colony" being organized in Southern California. As it was turning out, there were more old buildings being "diagnosed" with asbestos, as well as other problems from being built in the late 50s to early 70s, such as lead-based paint and old plumbing pipes. Fortunately, a plan for an Animalian colony for aquatic Animalians had already been "on the books" for a while, but there were still some things, like a casino and strip club, that were still unknown for the time being.

An unexpected result of providing conversions to Ukranian refugees was the plan for a new colony in Europe, this time in Poland, where most of the conversions had taken place. However, due to the Russia/Ukrane War, it would still take a while to set things up, especially since everyone was waiting for the war to end first. On the other hand, there was still plenty of time to work out the finer details "on the drawing board".

Of course, Poland wasn't the only place where Animalian conversions were taking place. Miss Juliet's estate was also hosting a small refugee camp of its own, and the girls and boys there were helping out there, and not just with the conversions. In a way, the Ukranian refugees were helping speed along the colony's development, because several people from the nearby town were now seeking conversion of their own, although an official name was still undecided.
