St. Patrick's Day 2023: Good Fortunes...

added by makutamon 5 months ago O

St. Patrick's Day 2023 was considered a good time for good fortune in many ways, especially since some people were using the holiday for either conversions or upliftings. The newest one was really confusing, at first.

"I just don't know why this new girl would want to be a hermaphrodite jaguar." said one Horizon scientist, still trying to make sense of things.

"If it'll help," said another scientist, holding a newly completed diagnosis sheet. "We just got done with her MRI scan and think we found the problem. Normally pituitary tumors are bad enough. This girl, who wants to officially rename herself Nio, however, has a pituitary tumor that completely messed up her hormones. Not only is she suffering from moderate to severe leptin deficiency, but she's also got her masculine and feminine hormones completely mixed up, which is why she's so... unusually... overweight... and... androgynous." He said, trying to be tactful about it.

"And that tumor is somehow causing it?" Asked the first scientist.

"We've got a pretty good idea that that's the cause." semi-confirmed the other scientist. "But what we do know is that the tumor's location is where all forms of traditional surgery and radiation therapy would have a high percentage of killing her."

"... She, or it'll be shi once she's done converting and double dosing, will still have to spend some time at Dr. Jones' clinic afterward." Said the first scientist, still scratching his head on the matter.

Meanwhile, another Horizon Agent was on her way to meet up with Shelly and Molly, who were doing some sparring in one of Claw Coliseum's private rooms. The reason why they were private were almost completely clear once the agent entered the code and opened the room, since Shelly and Molly were doing their sparring completely topless. When the agent entered, Shelly and Molly were doing full-body grappling with each other and, while Molly was doing better at this, she was still having problems with it.

"Sorry, ladies," said the agent, "But I was wondering if you could help me out with some new converts."

"That depends." said Shelly, as she and Molly straightened themselves up a touch.

"Apparently a group of women about your age just applied for conversion and one of them seems to think that you'd sponsor them." said the agent, looking over the small stack of applications she brought with her. "Not that we're turning them away, they've got some pretty bad, old injuries, not including the twisted limbs that didn't heal properly."

"Who said that we'd sponsor them?" asked Molly, a little surprised at that.

"Well, one of the girls, who wants to be an Asian Elephant, has signed her name as 'Ela Shah'..." began the agent, but Molly interupted.

"I do indeed know that stage name," she confirmed, "And I think I have a good idea on who the others are."

"Soooo...?" asked the Agent, uncertainly.

"You know what, I will sponser them for conversion." confirmed Molly, grinning in both anticipation and anger, "On the condition that, once they've cleaned off the rust from their skills, that there's a match between me and Ela Shah."

"I'm going to have to talk to Anderson about this," replied the Agent, "But I can't see why you can't have a match against her."

"Good, tell her I'll see her there." said Molly. But once the Agent had left, Shelly turned to her.

"This isn't about... that, is it?" she asked, apprehensively.

"No, not at all." not-quite-lied Molly, "Just a bit of welcome to Animalia... as well as a bit of... payback."

What was probably the biggest thing, since it was also part of Spring Break, was the Animalia Opera House's first official show.

"When Igor Stravensky originally wrote his ballet The Rite of Spring, his sole purpose was, as he put it, to express primitive life." said the host, "When Fantasia 1940 adapted it, they divorced it from its original form, a simple series of tribal dances, and revisualized it as a pageant of the story of the growth of life on earth. So, the Animalia Opera House has decided to pay a homage to both its origins and its adaptation. So, by combining the two, we have created a 'creationist lens' to view the science behind the growth of life on Earth."

Sarah and Malice, who were doing the special coverage for Animalia Ambassadoria, gave whispered commentary on what each part of the play showed, all of which was set to the original orchestral ensemble:

The first Act, titled as A dance of Wind and Fire, dramatized the collision of Terra and Thea, which not only fused them together, but also "gave birth" to the Moon. Then the forces of Terra, the dancers dressed in costumes to suggest molten lava, began a rapid expansion into Thea's territory, provoking a retaliation from dancers dressed in costumes to represent both the surging sea and whirlwinds of steam.

The Second Act, entitled The Birth of Life was an abridged version of the development of life from single-celled organisms to the early amphibians. Each milestone was separated by the curtains closing and opening again. The last time this happened, was when the first amphibian stuck its head out of the water, was followed by a declaration of a 15-minute intermission.

The Third Act, entitled Age of Prosperity followed a tribe of Dinotopian hunter-gatherers, mainly plant-eaters, through various facets of Stone Age society. Eventually, at the point where the T-Rex attacks during the Fantasia adaptation, a rival tribe of meat-eaters attacks. Eventually, a Stegosaur Dinotopian successfully fights off the opposing chieftan and drives off the rival tribe, but at the cost of his life. Grief-striken, the tribe take him back to their ancestral burial grounds to give him a proper, Stone Age burial.

The Fourth and Final Act, entitled The Event showed the difficulties that the tribe encounters on their way to the ancestral burial grounds. Finally, after the leader is buried, but before the tribe can move on, the event is revealed to be the coming of the asteroid that caused the Chixulub crater. The first half of the event showed the earthquakes and tsunamis that came from the impact, but the second half showed something more fictional. The asteroid's impact releases dancers in costume to represent the spirits of Winter, who whirl around in such a way that shows both the wiping out of the tribe who were fortunate enough to survive the asteroid impact only to be swept away by the winter spirits and suggested that the other dinosaur "tribes" were also wiped out. Finally, the sun becomes a solar eclipse and sinks beneath the horizon, showing the world of the dinosaurs locked within the first of the great Ice Ages.
