Talking About Werecats

added by Brightest Midnight 5 months ago O

"So, is there any reason other than being close to the Pride that you're interested in becoming a Werecat?" Rachel asked curiously as she looked down at herself and then back at Cynthia.

"Well, I admit its mostly because of my family and the pride," Cynthia said with a slight chuckle. "But it's something I've been thinking about for a long time. A lot of the friends I've made in Moon Lake are werecats. I don't really have any specific reason, there's just always been something about it that feels right."

"So, why haven't you done it yet?" Rachel asked curiously. "If you don't mind me asking at least."

"I've just, not really found the right girl I guess," Cynthia admitted. She gave Rachel a sly smile. "Though, I might be getting close."

Rachel blushed a bit at the implication of that as she shook her head, playing with her tail a moment. "Yeah... maybe... well, umm... I hope that goes well."

"Yeah, me too," Cynthia said, turning her head away for a moment. "I'm sure it will, once she's ready."

Rachel wondered if she was getting the right message from Cynthia. It did sound like she might mean her, but it was hard to tell. She looked at Cynthia who gave her a soft smile and a nod.

"I wish I had a choice..." Rachel said softly.

"You should've had a choice, but that doesn't change anything about the person you really are," Cynthia said as she placed her hand on Rachel's paw. "You are a wonderful young woman, werecat or not. So how about we focus on the game next week? I've got a few ideas for what to do with Kiladi going forward."

Rachel smiled a bit as she listened to Cynthia talk about her ideas for the Drow in Ismar. She had already worked out a plan that her character had been from a distant continent Cynthia had called Veldhein. She had come up with the idea of the Drow being a nomadic people that lived in the jungles of Ismar and that Kiladi had come to study them and maybe make some sort of contact between their people. But she had a new idea that the Drow from Veldhein might have left Ismar centuries before, which could potentially lead to more connections than she had originally planned. More than that, they were already starting to piece together a character arc, she said she had ideas for everyone else too, but she was still working on things.

Rachel just listened, it was nice to be able to just sit and listen to this kind of thing. Cynthia really seemed passionate about her world. It sounded like she had some fun ideas, and Rachel couldn't wait to play.

"Oh... I should probably get back home," Cynthia said as she checked the time on her phone. "It's late and we both have class tomorrow."

"Yeah," Rachel said, getting up and stretching a bit as she turned herself back to human. She had gotten more comfortable in her Werecat form, but it was still good to be human again.

"See you for D&D on Monday?" Cynthia asked as she gave Rachel a smile.

"Yeah, see you then," Rachel said as Cynthia started to get up.
