Shelly Fitzgerald and Carrie Cole were still going strong as a couple.
Friends and acquaintances of the two young women were shocked at how long their relationship lasted. Before The Great Change, everyone thought that with Shelly missing for so long, Gary, now Carrie, would have eventually moved on to someone else. But the former man, now New Woman, had remained faithful to her Born Woman girlfriend for ten years.
"True love doesn't just exist in the movies" Carrie said to a skeptical friend, days before a bloody Shelly had been found wandering the freeway.
"I stand corrected" said the friend as they watched the news report of Shelly's discovery.
Ever since The Great Change had freed Shelly from her kidnapper, the two were making up for years of lost time.
Tonight, the two were making their weekly trip to the cinema to see Scream VI.
Scream had been a favorite movie series of Shelly's before a real life psycho killer entered her life. She had always been a fan of horror movies, and she wasn't going to let her experience taint that, even if some of the scenes triggered her.
Shelly and Carrie both enjoyed the movie a great deal.
Shelly had moaned before the movie started about Sidney Prescott, the heroine of the original trilogy, not being present, but she eventually grew to like the new characters just as much.
Both Carrie and Shelly found it interesting how the various Ghostfaces since The Great Change had become a lot more brutal. Since they were all women now and lacked the upper body strength to throw people around, they compensated by being sneakier, not afraid to slit people's throats or set booby traps for their victims.
On one hand, this made the films less fun because there was less opportunities for the heroines to escape from the killer, but on the other, it made the films more suspenseful.

In the next theater, Logan and Allison were going to see Shazam: Fury of The Gods. It was Allison's choice, as Logan wasn't really a huge superhero fan.
They always chose the row of seats furthest from the screen.
The view of the screen was not only better that way, but it gave the two a better opportunity to make out without anyone seeing them.

In another theater, Millie and Juliana and their daughter Paloma were all seeing Puss In Boots: The Last Wish together
One of the aspects of motherhood that had taken Juliana the longest time getting used to was that she had to sit through a *lot* of kids movies and shows now.
She had probably watched more cartoons in their last four years than she ever had growing up. This included a lot of cartoons that she had absolutely zero interest in seeing ever again.
But it was all worth it to see Paloma be happy, laughing and clapping at the story and animation and talking cats, and Millie be just as happy being a mom, a job Millie took *very* seriously.
Juliana just wished that the younger couple with the newborn baby a few rows below them, Tiffany and Dani, would keep the noise down.
