While Kate and Twinkle started to make their way towards a possible solution to Kate's problem. However, both were unaware that they were observed intently by someone else. After all, Faerie has its own dangers. It might be separated from human regions, creatures and humans pass through one another at times. And Faerie has not only benign creatures. And the silent observer was indeed nefarious, no doubt about it.
It could be a human, bent on capturing the two pretty and exotic creatures. The fairy could be sold in a human market, just like the unicorn. The unicorn to breed and give a horn or her mane, in a pasture, or exposed as a nicely pretty attraction. The fairy could offer her magical glitter or sing, serving as a pet within a jar. Humans captured and sold magical creatures without remorses.
Goblins were of a same sort, even worse as they were magical themselves and could move in the regions of Faerie as they wished. The perspective of shiny gold coins is what pushed them to betray their own species, even if humans didn't like them much for who they were and because of their appearance.
Other creatures could be there too. An ogre or troll wanting unicorn meat and a fairy as desert. A centaur desperate enough to mate that he would consider forcing himself on a unicorn. A male unicorn whose hormones had rendered him mad with lust, a rare yet possible occurrence. The same could go with a pegasus. A faun or satyr would fit such a situation as well. Or indeed any violent creature wishing for a bit of company. A wizard could capture them too, intent to use both to make some magical experiences.
Yes, Faerie had quite a few nasty surprises, and the genie was not there to help anymore...
