Arthur had led a rotten life. From birth, he was abandoned by his parents. They never wanted to take care of a kid, and fled their village when bandits came, leaving him behind. It was only by the bandits' need for new blood that they took him into their camp to raise him.
Suffice to say it, bandits aren't the best parents, so Arthur really didn't get many good morals instilled in him. He did, however, get better at being a thief. By the time he was 18, he had helped sack 3 villages. And by the time he reached 20, he had fallen for someone. A sorceress by the name of Tania.
The two had met during a ransacking. She had been using the town to test new spells on, unbeknownst to the villagers. Now, him and his crew messing up her operation there. Well, it wasn't the best first impression, to say the least.
However, they intrigued her, and she followed the bandits back to their camp. Boldly, she made herself known to them right in the center of their camp and offered to join them.
"What's the catch?" Arthur asked, the first to draw his sword.
"I get to test out my spells on the villages to find. Oh, and this!" she pulled Arthur into a kiss, and cast a love spell on him.
Well, their relationship might not be exactly organic, but that's how he fell for her.
All that aside, Arthur was making strides, but that all changed in Fairydale. Him, some other bandits, and his girlfriend were just supposed to capture the fairies so they could sell them off. They weren't supposed to find a unicorn here. Especially not one who competently used her magic. He had thought Esmerelda had hunted unicorns to extinction...
He was worried too, since Tania was the one who spotted this unicorn, but hadn't returned. Nicholas had just been turned into a female fairy, and him and William were still caught in the unicorn's magic grip.
He did the only thing he could. He lied. Once the unicorn let him go, he could cut its horn off before it knew what to do.
"Have mercy! We're sorry!" he exclaimed, forcing tears out his eyes. "We'll let your fairy friends go, we promise! Just let us go first!"
The unicorn, unfortunately for him, was not buying it and smiled...smiled!....at him.
"I don't believe you. Let's change you into something a bit more pleasant, hm? I think you'd be a perfect..."
