The girls giggled as they wandered the carnival, simply taking in the sights and sounds of the evening. Eventually, they wandered near a tent with large signs outside, proclaiming "Dr. Lupo Metamorpho's Moonlit Madness Revue" in large block letters.
"I want to sit down for a minute; why don't we check out this show?" said Julie, rather curious about the name.
"I guess," replied Joy, already rather bored, though equally intrigued by the signs.
They wandered into the big tent, where they saw the show was barely attended by anyone. There could be no more than five or six people in the tent with them.
"At least we can get good seats," Julie said, sitting down on the front row of bleachers, dead center.
Soon enough, the outer flap of the tent was closed, and the house lights dimmed. A fanfare played over the loudspeaker in the tent, and a spotlight appeared in the center ring. After a few moments, a man in a ringmaster's outfit darted into it, smiling broadly. "Thank you, good evening, and welcome to Dr. Lupo Metamorpho's Moonlit Madness Revue!" he shouted. The crowd (including Julie and Joy) applauded politely.
"Tonight," he continued, "You will see things that astonish and amaze everyone, and you may even be touched by a little bit of magic yourselves!" The next few minutes were filled with some of the most mundane magic tricks that either of the girls had ever seen; a handkerchief was turned into a bird, a head of lettuce turned into a rabbit and such. The crowd grew restless.
"This sucks," whispered Joy to Julie. The Doctor whirled, as though he'd heard her.
"I know what you're thinking...this SUCKS!" he said, making pointed eye contact with them. (Which,to be fair, wasn't that hard. As stated earlier, there couldn't have been more than ten people total in the tent.) "Well...all of you should prepare to be amazed!" He clapped his hands, and two clowns appeared, pushing a small cage.
These weren't traditional clowns that the girl was used to. Rather these were female clowns, busty and curvaceous clad only in bikinis, the rest of their skin covered in grease paint. "Umm...weird," whispered Julie..."I guess this is why it's 18 and up at the door."
"Yeah," replied Joy, "What's up with the designs though," she said, pointing out that both clowns had various moon phases painted on them, and each had a paw print on their asses.
