A Weekend for Fools

added by makutamon 5 months ago O

While April Fools Day and Palm Sunday were right next to each other in 2023, everyone thought that both days would be good days to pull pranks on each other.

---

Sometimes, people would use April Fool's Day for big time reveals and laugh at their victim's reactions. This was precisely the case for Ruby when she introduced her old family to her new one. Not only did she do the introductions at the Meat Market, she also "reintroduced" herself to her old family with a dance on stage. The end result was a reaction, especially from the "greedy grandson", that would forever be immortalized as a perfect example of both Karma, and passive-aggressive revenge.

---

Of course, no matter how over the top some pranks can be, it just can't match the level of Japanese pranks, as several videos from Heiya Island. What was probably the most popular was a beach party over the weekend where tourists and locals alike wouldn't know whether or not they were going to fall into camouflaged pits full of sponge blocks. The lengths/depths that the Japanese go to hiding these pits had to be applauded.

It was during this beach party that Ami and Tsukuyomi came back from surveying the new island for Animalians, and Manami also introduced them to the Animalians who had converted for treating obesity. All of them had ended up significantly more muscular than anticipated, which did confirm, at least partially, that the virus metabolized fat deposits to increase muscle size.

Ami and Tsukuyomi's report did confirm that the island had been declared off-limits by a warlord of the Minamoto clan because of the resources on the island, which had been confirmed, not just by the logging camp on the shore, but also because of an abandoned mine that was discovered near the mountain. But that wasn't all they found.

They also found an extremely old peach tree that was still alive and growing, though the scientists had to carefully determine how old it was since they didn't want to cut it down to count the rings (and thereby show some restraint to scientific curiosity). So far, they had determined that it was well over 500 years old, but still more work would be needed to determine the actual age.
