At that exact moment, the door to the apartment opened. As Willow turned and smiled at the person who was entering, Bill turned his own smaller head to see what who was entering. And he audibly gasped as he saw who it was.
It was Bill's younger sister, Kimberly! It was unmistakably her! Well, Bill's former younger sister Kimberly. Now, Kimberly was apparently much older, right around the age that Bill and Tammy had been seemingly moments ago, but it's already felt like a lifetime since that happened to Bill. Kimberly had a worn but warm face, slight grey hairs in her head, and was wearing a decent looking polka-dot dress. But this older woman, Bill could easily recognize the spunky, energetic, and slightly annoying but still lovable girl he grew up with.
"Hey mom!" Willow said, as she approached Kimberly, Bill still in hand. Behind her, Tammy and Gloria looked on. Gloria held back tears, trying to not draw attention to her childish form, but in her head knowing that she screwed the pooch this time. And Tammy continued to look around curiously, perhaps trying to figure out his she liked this reality as much as the one she just left.
"Hello, sweetheart. How has your day been going?" Kimberly said.
"Well, it was going pretty good, until little Billy here tried to escape out the window again." Willow said, bouncing Bill up and down.
"Oh, you little rascal you! You have so much of your grandfather in you, I just wish you could have got to meet him..." Kimberly said, the sound of loss emanating in her voice.
"I know. I wish the kids could have met him too. But Little Billy here will get to carry on his legacy!" Willow said. "Mom, how were your classes today?" Willow was trying desperately to change the subject, hoping to cheer her mother up. Her mother loved the fact that she was able to go back to school at her age to make up for the lack of a college education, having become a mother early in life and a homemaker for the rest of it. What made it great was that when Willow wasn't at work, Kimberly could simply pop on a VR headset and been in class without acting having to leave the house.
"Oh, they were fine. You think you know everything about the history you grew up in, and suddenly your class goes over all the weird stuff that happened that 2021 and you suddenly realize how much you don't know."
"Well, you'll have to tell me more!" Willow responded.
"Later, sweetheart. Listen, I'm here now to watch the kids. Go do your work!" Kimberly laughed.
"Oh, mom, you don't have to..."
"Nonsense! That's what Grandmothers are for! You have your animation dreams to accomplish! Go! Work!" Kimberly said, taking Bill from Willow's arms.
Bill was so utterly lost here. And he had to figure out something soon, or else he'd be growing up again.
Option 1: Bill attempts to convince Kimberly that he is her brother. Meanwhile, Gloria can't stop thinking about why she keeps screwing up, and Tammy can't stop thinking about why she hated being Tom.
Option 2: Bill's thoughts about the stone are distracted as he messes his diaper. Willow and Kimberly work together to change him as Bill finds out more about the current reality.
Option 3: Bill suddenly realizes that he, Gloria and Tammy are siblings. And that they look eerily similar to a certain bully from Shermer Illinois...
