Another three months had passed and Janessa was miserable. Her belly had swollen considerably, which by now forced her to waddle everywhere she went. But that was not all, as her already large breasts doubled in size with milk. She already had the largest breasts in the castle but now she was certainly the largest in the city possibly even the kingdom. Janessa struggled dealing with their size they were incredibly heavy and always seemed to knock into things. She could get use to the cravings, the swelling, the being to big to wear any clothing, but the one thing she hated was the stress placed in her bladder. Each morning she would wake to a soiled bed, and throughout the day she had to waddle over to a bucket only to not make it in time. She could not wait to give birth despite the terror it brought her.
As if by some impeccable timing, her dark thoughts were interrupted by the sound of the harem chamber doors opening and the court doctor stepping in.
“You are looking well this day my lady. My how you’ve grown. How are you feeling?” The doctor trying on is best bedside manners.
“I feel like a big fat cow!” Janessa pouted.
“Well perhaps we should call the court veterinarian and take you the the palace stables!” The doctor joked, making Janessa burst out laughing.
After some small talk the doctor began his examination. He began with his usual initial polling and prodding but then began to pull out some vial from his bag. “Don’t worry dear these are just some magical medicinals to help you along.” The doctor applied some creams and lotions onto Janessa’s stomach and waited for a minute.
Janessa did not understand what the doctor was doing but trusted in him as he was the previous royal doctor. In fact he helped deliver several of the royals before the revolt. “What’s that cream for doctor?”
“It’s s special blend of herbs and magical ingredients to reveal the sex of the children. The king is very persistent on this matter and will not wait for the old fashioned way to find out.”
“Why is he so persistent if you don’t mind my asking?”
“The king had been getting more and more pressure on him by the court to produce a proper heir.”
“A proper heir?”
“Yes. The king is seeking a son to ensure his line will continue. Several members of the court are beginning to have doubts that he can produce a proper heir.” The doctor then leaned closer whispering to Janessa. “Some seek to replace the king if an heir is not secured. Some among the court are even looking to prop up a new leader, one with a more established and distinguished lineage.”
Janessa was a bit flustered she had forgotten about such customs, she was especially mad at herself since she had once been a proper heir herself. But all her time as a concubine had a way of eroding away the memories of old. But what struck Janessa the most was that there might be another rebellion brewing. After a few minutes it struck her again. Way was the doctor telling her this?
“Doctor why are you telling me this?”
“Because a good friend of mine told me you could be trusted. And because I remain loyal to the crown.” The doctor gave Janessa a quick wink and then checked on her stomach. There was a pink glow and the doctor nodded with approval. “It seems my lady that you will have eight daughters.”
