What Yomiel Knows

added 4 months ago BM O Mythological Magic

"I hope you don't mind if I drop my human disguise," Yomiel said as she led Tori and company into her house. "I prefer to not have to hide my holy radiance."

"Feel free," said Tori. She glanced back at her partners. "Heads up, you're about to see Twinkles in all her angelic glory. It's gonna be pretty startling, and it'll give your vampire head a killer migraine, Megan."

Yomiel gave Megan a sympathetic look. "Oh, I forgot that you're a vampire I can keep up my disguise if it makes you more comfortable."

"Actually, I'd really like to see you as an angel," said Megan. "That should be worth a little headache."

Yomiel nodded. Megan and Fiona gasped as the blonde girl's jeans, T-shirt, and tennis shoes morphed into shimmering celestial robes that appeared to be spun from some kind of solidified rainbow. Next, a massive pair of feathery white wings burst out of Yomiel's shoulder blades. A heavenly glow of gentle golden light enveloped Yomiel entire body. In particular, a halo of nearly solid light formed around the angel's head.

"W-wow," Megan smiled, clutching her forehead in pain. "Y-you l-l-look amazing!"

Fiona sank to her knees and kissed Yomiel's sandals with reverence. "Ah'm not worthy! O servant o' th' Laird, how come dae ye bide doon 'ere wi' us lowly mortals 'n' awa' fae Heaven?"

"I live on Earth because I'm a guardian angel, Fiona," Yomiel explained. "The archangels assigned me to guard Jefferson County, Washington, against evil."

"This is just the coolest thing ever!" Megan gushed, still clutching at her throbbing vampiric head. "I didn't even know angels were real before today! Hell... errrm, heck, I would have laughed when Tori told me that we'd be meeting with an angel if I hadn't already become a vampire earlier this week! I always thought that the supernatural was just imaginary, and now it's literally my life!" The excited fledgling vampire was practically dancing from a mix of pain and exhilaration while Fiona worshiped at Yomiel's feet.

Erzulie chuckled, an amused smile on the witch's chocolate-colored face. "It's always fun to introduce newbies to Yomiel, isn't it?"

"You got that right, babe," Tori laughed. "I honestly can't tell if Twinkles gets a better reaction from the Christians or the atheists. The atheists' brains all go into BSOD as Twinkles challenges their entire worldview, and the Christians do that whole hammy 'Oh, I am not worthy! Let me kiss your celestial toes!' bit."

"I think my favorite time was that homophobic pastor who teamed up with us to kill that rogue werewolf pack up here back in 2018," Erzulie grinned impishly. "Remember how he looked at us funny whenever we kissed or held hands. He looked like his eyes were about to burst out of his skull when Yomiel told him that all angels are naturally pansexual!" Erzulie burst into a fresh fit of laughter at the memory.

Once Yomiel was able to extract herself from Megan and Fiona's admiration, she settled onto the sofa and invited the others to join her. "Let's begin," said the angel. "Let's see if I understand the situation, Tori. Your cousin, Beck Hamilton, has been looking and acting a bit strange lately. They've gained a lot of muscle mass overnight, gotten abnormally hirsute, started staying out late, and somehow blasted... err... seed all over a mirror despite being assigned female at birth. Correct?"

"Yup," Tori nodded. "They blasted their cum all over the thing. Oops, sorry for the vulgarity. Also, Aunt Kim swore she caught a brief glimpse of patches of fur on Beck's body."

"Right," said Yomiel. "I also understand that you and your aunt believe that Beck has become some sort of werebeast and that the von Karnsteins are somehow behind it. I agree with the first part, and I'm still trying to gather information on the von Karnstein bit."

"Have you found anything?" Tori asked anxiously.

"I hope you don't find my approach too direct," said Yomiel, "but I tried talking to Matriarch Carmilla. She confessed to knowing what's happening to Beck, but all she would tell me is that Beck is happy with their transformation. Also, the clan seer and her apprentice apparently know you're coming."

"That's about as much info as I'd expect the ol' leech queen to give you, Twinkles," Tori sighed, idly playing with her messy blonde hair as she talked. "I bet the fang's lying about it being voluntary. After all, what sane human would choose life as a monster."

"'Monster' is a relative term, not to mention a loaded one," Yomiel cautioned. "Beck could very well have their reasons."

"Yeah," Megan nodded resolutely. "After all, I did."

"We'll see," Tori said skeptically. "Now, does anyone have any theories about why Beck's transformation lets them ejaculate all over a mirror?"

"Laird have mercy!" Fiona gasped in shock, making the sign of the Cross. It seemed that people growing penises and ejaculating on mirrors was not a frequent discussion topic in rural, isolated Scottish villages.

"They've probably become a werehyena," Yomiel guessed, fiddling with her feathers as she thought.

"Of course!" Erzulie agreed. "Werehyenas are a hermaphroditic breed!"

"Sounds right to me," said Tori. "We're gonna have to think about finding a cure for that. Is Morgana still in business?"

"She is," said Yomiel, "but I want you to understand that I only approve of turning Beck back into a normal human if they consent to it, and I know that Morgana feels the same way."

"I'll consider your opinion, Twinkles," Tori said pensively, "but you know that Vordenburgs like me do things our own way."

"Yeah, I know," Yomiel sighed sadly, her wings drooping a bit. "I always hope that you'll learn a better way, but your road to your best self is apparently a long one."

Tori cleared her throat awkwardly. "Well, we'd better drive down to Stokerville and touch base with Aunt Kim. I could use a status update from her. I'd also like to speak directly to Beck if I can get a hold of them. Bye, Twinkles! Thanks for the intel. Oh, if I can't find Beck in Stokerville, keep an eye out for an AFAB non-binary person with freckles and light brown hair that they wear in a fade cut with frosted platinum tips in Byron Heights. They're usually dressed in masculine-leaning clothing with a midriff-baring spaghetti strap mixed in to show off their belly button piercing."

"Good idea," Yomiel nodded. "Mandy will probably be home soon to talk about planning our wedding. Good luck on your investigation! Make good choices!" She waved goodbye to Tori as she and her party left for Stokerville.
