The girl lying on the mat recoiled in terror when she observed Mr Jacobs looking at her. “Ruby! This can’t be real!” she sobbed. “Somethings happened to me! I’ve turned into a girl”
Mr Jacobs thought that this girl was formerly Jake, a 16 year old boy. She tried to calm the student “It’s okay. I know what happened now. I think you were right. It’s that medallion. I think it’s magical. Do you still have it?”
“What’s happened to me?” Sobbed the girl who was formerly Mrs Hastie.
“The medallion? Do you have it”
Mr Jacobs’s twin just looked at her with bewilderment on her face.
“You showed me a medallion earlier. A necklace you were wearing. Can you show it to me again? I think it is what changed you. I think it changed me as well”
“My necklace? It did this to me?” The girl unfastened a silver chain from around her neck, it had a heart shaped locket attached. She held it out to Mr Jacobs.
Mr Jacobs had recalled a bigger medallion on a thicker chain, not a locket, but perhaps he was hallucinating. Nothing was making sense. However he stepped forward and took the necklace. He braced for an electrical shock but felt nothing.
He took the locket and examined it “Is this the same necklace you were wearing earlier?”
“Yes. It’s the only necklace I’ve been wearing today. Do you really think this is what has changed me? Look at me! I’m skinny. I’ve been turned into a teenage girl!”
“Yes you have. Somehow we have become twins. You look just like me. I think this necklace has something to do with it. I just don’t know how”

Meanwhile Mr Cotter had remained in the washroom after seeing his reflection. Somehow he was morphing. He watched in the mirror as over twenty or so minutes his body changed. He couldn’t believe what was happening and repeatedly pinched himself. He ended up stripping naked to watch what was happening, fascinated by what he was seeing and forgetting about the hysterical, semi-conscious girl lying outside in his gym office. He watched as his penis and balls retracted into his groin and he grew breasts. By the end of twenty minutes he realised he was a doppelganger of Ruby Donaldson and that he was now a she. She couldn’t help but grope at her breasts and explore her new groin as she blew kisses to herself.
Mr Cotter was startled out of her contemplations when she heard voices in the office. Someone, a female by the sound of it, had arrived and was talking to the girl (that she still thought was Ruby) she had left lying on the gym mat. It sounded like another girl. She attempted to put clothes back on but her tracksuit was now way to big for her. The pants would not stay up, not even her boxers.
She surveyed the washroom in desperation. She did not want to be caught naked. Mr Cotter shared this washroom with Wendy Wright the female gym teacher. They each possessed a locker. Wendy wasn’t working today but perhaps she had some clothes in her locker? It had no lock. It was worth a try.
She opened the door and observed that Wendy did indeed keep a change of clothes in there. There was a black leotard. That made sense as Wendy also worked as a yoga instructor. Some days she would go straight from school to take classes. There was also a sports bra and panties in a bag. They looked clean. Lastly there was a dark green dress in a clear plastic wrapping that looked like it had been picked up from the dry cleaners. On examination it even had a dry cleaners label attached.
Mr Cotter quickly made a decision and started to get dressed.
