Bill opened the door leading from the now quiet garage and into the kitchen, his eyes locking on the table where two small figures were waiting for him, both of them facing towards the small television that sat on the far kitchen counter. The TV was on, but silent, apparently whoever Bill's new parents were, they still preferred to watch the morning news in silence with the closed captioning on, and, much like his original mom and ad, still forgot to turn it off when they left for the day. Bill paid it no mind as he gently lowered his hand to the table and let Willow slide off onto the soft cotton that had served as soft landing for Tammy and Gloria, watching as his daughter from the future turned big sister in the present stumbled over to Tammy and Gloria.
"Well, that's all three of you. I'm really sorry, guys!" Bill said apologetically, but then raised an eyebrow in confusion as Tammy and Gloria didn't bother to respond as Willow began trying to get their attention herself. "Guys?" Bill asked again, and after Willow touched her shoulder Tammy turned to face her, pointing a slender, small arm towards the television, her face white as a ghost. Bill turned his head to follow Tammy's arm and his eyes locked with the TV.
There, the words 'BREAKING NEWS' was plastered at the top of the TV screen, while a large block of rapid fire captioning took up most of the screen. Bill blinked for a moment, trying to read it all, but after a moment he simply reached for the remote on the kitchen counter and turned the closed captioning off and un-muting the TV.
"-gain for those of you just joining us, there has been a worldwide event of unknown origin as women across the United States of America and other countries have suddenly been reduced to three inches in size" The older anchor's voice was steady, but there was a hint of panic in it, "Here is live footage from our own station just moments ago as my co-anchor, Tessa McKnight was affected"
The video feed suddenly cut to a shot of the two anchors sitting at the desk chatting, clearly during a commercial break when suddenly green light from an unknown source tinted the camera feed as Tessa quickly began to shrink, losing foot upon foot of her height within seconds until she vanished below the lip of the desk, the male anchor jumping up from his seat as shouts the sounds of men yelling from off camera are heard.
"This is, unfortunately, not localized to our station. Here is more footage of this strange and unknown event happening at several of our affiliate stations"
Video from different television stations begin to play, many of them news broadcasts, but several of them early morning talk shows as all females visible begin shrinking to three inches tall within moments of the Ahn'Ger Stone's light appearing.
"We also have footage being sent in from elsewhere in the world as this phenomenon has sent the entire human race into a moment of chaos"
More footage, this time from cellphones in New York, London, Germany, Canada, Mexico, even South Africa and China as women immediately shrink in size as cars and buses suddenly veer across roadways and streets.
"And unfortunately we do have to announce that we do have confirmed reports of multiple fatalities as out of control vehicles claim lives as their occupants were affected by the same mysterious light. There are more than a few cases of accidental crushing happening, and several reports of missing persons already happening. If you are a woman and you are viewing this broadcast, officials are asking that if your immediate area is safe and free of harm, please do not move or attempt to find help. For all of our male viewing audience, please be aware of where you are stepping and sitting. Provide support for any shrunken women by calling your emergency services immediately and keeping the immediate area free from threats. God help us all"
