"How aren't you concerned about this!?" Jack was practically shouting as him and Steven went to lunch. The big muscular jock barely made any reference to it. His arm just wrapped around Jack's back and led him to the cafeteria.
"Dunno," Steven shrugged. "Really I kind of enjoy it." His tail continued to swish back and forth as they walked. Some people were staring, but it was more because the two looked like they were dating instead of how tightly packed Steven's clothes were or how both of the men had tails. "Then every once in a while, I feel like I get stronger."
"But how," Jack asked.
"Dunno," Steven lied. He wasn't about to tell Jack that he'd been trying to hide the eggs in Jack's place. The eggs needed to be hidden and if they're layer refused to do it, it'd just have to be one of the helpers. "Maybe I'm just spending too much time with you? Or maybe there's some kind of link between us?"
"This is so confusing..." Jack sighed. He reached up and rubbed his temples.
"Then don't think about it," Steven said.
"But--"
Steven lowered himself down to Jack's eye level. "Listen," he spoke calmly, "we have all the eggs. Right? Then there's nothing to worry about."
"What about the one in class!" Jack instantly remembered.
Steven pulled an egg out of his pocket. "I got it for you. Alright? Everything's going to be fine."
Jack took it out of Steven's hand and examined it. He could feel that it was one of his. "Okay..." he said. "I'll try to calm down."
"Good," Steven ruffled his fingers through Jack's brindle hair.
Jack grabbed onto his giant hand and stopped it. He looked up to see the other man smiling down at him. Though, he couldn't help but feel the distance between their two faces had somehow grown larger. Of course, it had. The six inches that it had been doubled into a full on foot as Jack's body shrank three inches and Steven's body grew it. He shrugged it off. Why should he be the one to ruin a good thing?
He leaned more into Steven's body as he ordered his normal salad and Steven went with something heavy on the meat. The two went and sat down in a booth far away from anyone else and began eating.
"When did it start?" Jack asked.
"Start?"
"Your transformation?" Jack pressured.
"Hmmm... Last night. Pretty much right after I gave you a blowjob," Steven answered. "I know it was bad for me to say that I just wanted to study last night, but after seeing you nearly naked in the bathroom I couldn't help myself." He watched Jack squirm under the directness of his answer and the memory of the blowjob. "Maybe," Jack wanted to change his line of questioning. If this kept up, he'd be making more eggs in no time. "But when do the changes occur?"
"Feels kind of random," Steven continued lying. "The biggest ones are usually after you finish. But then there are other ones that just happen."
As Steven finished the sentence, Jack suddenly felt a pulling on his ears. They felt like they were being pulled upward. Each second growling longer. They migrated from the sides of his face up to the top of his head. He winced slightly. His nose upturned but didn't go back down.
The same was happening to Steven, though instead of long ears they rounded out. The much smaller ears were mostly hidden in the mane of hair wrapped around his handsome face. His nose naturally upturned as well, though a bit of pink was replacing the Caucasian skin that he had. It flattened and widened against his face.
"See?" Steven said.
Jack nodded. A bit of lightheadedness filled his brain. All he could think about was snuggling up in Steven's lap right now. It didn't feel bad but at the same time he didn't know if he had the whole truth or not.
