Tim walked down the rows of “furry” outfits ranging from what one could wear to a costume party, to what was basically lingerie and even those giant mascot like costumes. The outfits where split by male, female and unisex so Susan went off to look at the outfits for women while he walked down the line for male outfits.
On some levels he didn’t want to do this, he wasn’t furry at heart. Yes he got a hard on whenever Susan came out of the closet in her fox, cat or her bunny outfit but those were basically themed lingerie. If it made Susan happy to see him dressed as some kind of cat then he would do it for her, in the end it ended with her happy, that was all that really mattered to him.
He looked at the outfits walking down the line, passing the tigers, the lions, and the like. He ran his hands over the fake fur of some of the outfits before suddenly coming to a stop at a smaller section of outfits.
Snow Leopard
Maybe because he loved the animal with the beautiful silver/white coat, with deep blue eyes and black spots that made him love seeing that animal at the zoo. Or maybe it had to do that his high school mascot was a leopard and since he was on the school hockey team, they called themselves the snow leopards. Either way, he was drawn to this small section.
With his animal picked he looked over his options of styles. He wasn’t going to go crazy, but this was for foreplay in the bedroom.
With that in mind, he found what he was looking for. It had a sleeveless vest in the fur pattern of a snow leopard, a pair of ears on a headband, a pair of very tight boxer shorts and a belt with a long tail attached. It was in his price range and his size.
He picked it up and felt a slight pinch only to look down at his hand and saw nothing, when he focused on the outfit, he saw a small pit of plastic which had once held a tag there. Rolling his eyes he headed toward the register and paid for it. By the time he reached the register he had already forgotten about the pinch to his finger.
“Turn around.” Ordered Susan “I don’t want you to see mine, we will surprise each other.”
“Ok.” Said Tim as he turned around.
He didn’t know that the pinch he had felt in his finger and had already forgotten about was his end of his life as a human.
The furry virus was already within him and was already spreading.
What Tim didn’t know and what future researchers would find once they confirmed that the furry virus was real was that the virus spread mostly by the exchange of bodily fluids. It took only a tiny amount of the virus to become infected and it lasted for days on open surfaces, so tiny that when it entered Tim body through that tiny break in the skin from the plastic he was doomed. The virus within him was already changing him, already multiplying rapidly in this saliva, his blood and his sexual fluids in his case sperm.
The virus followed seemly no rules but a certain pattern emerged with time, a bite from an infected the most common way to become infected would cause an almost random animal change in the next victim. The exchange of blood had the same effect while sexual intercourse made the victim change either into the same furry species or at least the same sub type. Example a wolf furry infected an human by sex could make another wolf or a fox. The only type of infection which saw a 100% change of the victim into the same furry species was through breast milk and only in young children. The changes could take hours, days or as short as a minute depending on the infection method. Other radical changes could see a man become a women or a women a man, age was also in flux in some cases of those who turn.
All that was unknown to Tim and everyone else in the convention, he also didn't know that his changes had already begun and soon there would be more true furries than people in this center.
