Ricky stood in the ice cream line, wishing Dustin would just go away. It was so hot in the sun. Ricky’s bikini was fitting too tight. It felt like his breasts might pop out at any second. And the bottom felt more like a G-string flossing his new curvy ass. And his hair felt so long and hot in the heat.
“You know I’d look good on you, girl. Why don’t you just try me on for size?”
That was the last straw. Ricky started to turn to give Dustin a piece of his mind, then he saw Max laughing his head off at them not far away. Ricky vowed he would get revenge, and oh it would be sweet. He looked at the annoying boy and… stopped dead in his tracks. “What did you do to me now, Max?” Ricky fumed silently and he realized…
Dustin was… kinda cute.
“No he’s not!” Ricky protested loudly. Dustin looked at Ricky confused, and Ricky realized he had said it out loud. Ricky thought quickly, and continued, “Not going to be happy if he sees you flirting with me. My boyfriend – he’s right over there!” Ricky grudgingly pointed to Max, who was laughing even harder now.
“He’s your boyfriend?” Dustin said, looking at Max laughing like mad on the beach. Dustin looked at Ricky. “Girl, you can do better.”
“Aw,” Ricky said aloud, and blushed without thinking. “That’s sweet of you.” Then he froze up, realizing what he had just said. Why was he having such a hard time staying focused? He turned away from Dustin, not wanting to see the boy. Whatever Max had done was seriously messing with his head.
“Let me just spend a little time with you,” Dustin walked around to face Ricky. “I promise I’ll be nice to you. You deserve to be treated nice,” the boy said sincerely. That caught Ricky off guard, and for a second he was staring in Dustin’s eyes and saw sincerity that he didn’t expect from the boy. He felt himself blushing again, and he also felt warm and good inside. It was getting so hard to think.
“NO!” Ricky screamed silently to himself, realizing he must resist. “He’s a boy, and I’m a boy. And I like girls! End of story!” But he heard himself saying out loud, “Well, I guess it would be okay – just for a little while.” When Dustin grinned from ear to ear, then tried to cover and play it cool, Ricky heard himself giggle. He realized he felt all warm and fuzzy inside when he looked at Dustin. "Why can't I think stuff?" he asked himself silently, "It's like I'm totally dumb and stuff!"
“Thank you, Nikki,” Dustin said. I promise you won’t regret it.” And kissed Ricky right on the lips.
Ricky freaked out inside. The worse part wasn’t the kiss – which was completely unexpected and not at all what Ricky wanted.
The worse part, by far, was that he liked it... and it was exactly what he wanted.
Max was hysterical, rolling in laughter on the sand.
That was it. Max was simply going to have to die for this. Period.
