"The McHenry estate had been abandoned for 15 years now. rumor had it was abandoned after that old Charles dude and his entire staff vanished without a trace." a 17 ear old man said as he walked. "yeah Miles and rumor has it no one has even tried to see what was inside" Miles's friend Zack said. behind them were 3 of their other friends.
Sophia was a small girl just under 5 feet. next to her was her sister Wendy. Finally was Jack an African American at 6'7. the 5 of them had been friends for a long time. "I just wish Skye could be here. stupid allergies would kill her though" Jack said as he eyed the wildflowers.
he noticed that instead of normal colors they looked like a rainbow was on each petal. they were almost to the estate. "hey you got me and Wendy" Sophia said as they walked down the old road. "yeah remember when we explored that old hospital? you know before it was renovated into a new hospital" Wendy said as she brushed her brown hair out of her face.
soon they arrived at McHenry Manor. the wrought iron fence gate had fallen to the ground. more rainbow wildflowers could be seen around the lawn. it seemed to originate from the greenhouse to the left. the fountain was crumbling to pieces while water flowed out of it.
"strange it's both worse and in better condition than I would have thought" Miles said as he approached the manor. once inside they were amazed. outside of broken windows and some cobwebs they placed looked frozen in time. even more, was the impossibility of it. the flowers were fresh despite being covered in dust. the same rainbow colors littered their petals.
the clocks were all frozen to 8:35. this was when the entire staff and Charles vanished. "ok I don't know about this now" Sophia said as she turned to leave. the doors then slammed shut on her. her friends tried to get it to open but it was futile. they were stuck.
"hey we can just go through the window!" Zack said. he then picked up a chair and flung it into the window next to the door. it shattered on impact, the chair not the window. "OK now that's unsettling" Wendy said looking around the foyer. there were 5 main exits to the room.
on the left were the dining room and kitchen. up the grand staircase was a long hallway. the left side led to the study and portrait gallery. the right hall was the sleeping quarters and showers. directly opposite the dining room was the hall that led to the greenhouse and gardens.
finally was behind the staircase. it led to the grand library, more books than could ever be read by a single person. "OK you guys we need to get out of here" Miles said as he turned to face them. "well what's the plan then?" Wendy asked hugging herself.
"we're gonna have to split up. we each take a path. when one of us gets out we call the police" he said while holding his phone up. they all saw it said no signal despite having 3 bars outside 4 minutes ago. Miles went behind the staircase.
Wendy climbed up the stairs and went right. Zach went up the stairs as well and turned left. Sophia took the kitchen and Jack took the green house. if they had known a bit more about Charles McHenry then maybe they would have stuck together.
