Julia was started to wonder when this ever ended.
Was this it? Or would she become younger and end up as someone's child before birth?
In a very short time she had gone from a twenty-one year old to a one year old.
While it was frightening to be this young and helpless, she was starting to enjoy it as well. Her mother had been distant most of her life with only limited love.
But this formerly elderly woman was mothering her like she had wanted when she was a child. Would she had been better off if Susan had been her mother?
Did she want to. . .there was the feeling that if her die rolled again, Susan would truely be her mother.
In Susan's cabin, the now twenty-one year old hummed as she changed into some clothes that she felt were fitting better. The cute sundress had been a present for one of her grandaughters but it was hers now as was the purse. She turned as she heard Julia babbling. The one year old was pointed toward the purse she had placed the dice into.
"I've got them safe in my pocket, don't worry."
Julia shook her head and pointed a chubby arm toward herself and then the dice.
"I don't want any more rolls for myself. I'd end up looking like your teenage babysitter, not your mother." Another head shake and Julia pointed toward herself. "You want me to roll your dice?" Julia nodded and gave some happy babbling. "But you could lose up to half your age." More nodding.
Susan pulled out the dice and after a moment put hers back into the change purse inside the purse. "Do you want to be a baby?" Then a thought. "My baby?" Julia held out her arms to Susan who smiled.
"Hopefully we can change everything back later." With that Susan rolled Julia's die.
“One year you have walked this Earth. Now this number is but seven months. Each roll of the die takes you closer to your mother's womb.”
Julia shrank further into babyhood as the lights were around her. Susan felt something strange with her breasts as . . .a long forgotten memory as she realized she had regained a half cup size and was lactating. She picked up Julia and held her to one breast allowing the baby to nurse.
