The Magic Shop

Connors apprentice

added by O 4 months ago O

With the departure of Kane and the vampires, Nat and her friends now found themselves alone once more. Nat wanted to talk with Duke, Sylvia and Tanya wished to say their goodbyes, and the group wanted to enjoy this victory. Unfortunately they also needed to explain to Mika and Claudia why their house looked like a bomb went off.

"That creep attacked my kids," Mika bellowed , her face turning red as Nat and Rei explained what happened. Connor and the others now sat idly by as the Harris women learned of Kanes attack. "Look at this Mika," Claudia exclaimed as she gestured to the bullet holes in the wall. "What the hell was he useing? A machine gun?!"

"Um I think it was just a shotgun Mrs. Harris," Rei replied meekly. "Yeah a shot gun," Nat added quickly. "But don't worry we kept the kids safe."

"And how about the rest of you," Claudia asked as she studied the group of teenagers now sitting in her living room. "What are you doing in my house?"

"We came as soon as we heard Nat and Rei were in trouble," Miranda said softly. "We um wanted to help. Please don't be mad at them. They only asked us here because it was an emergency."

Claudia and Mika sighed, sinking into chairs as they gazed at the mess inside their home. The place looked as if the teens had thrown a wild party, yet both women knew better. They had security footage showing Kanes arrival. The teens had protected their children and disposed of a very serious threat. They were simply upset at the thought of how much it would cost to fix everything.

"We're not mad," Mika sighed. "Honesty we're grateful. You saved our kids, how could we not be grateful."

"We're just not looking forward to the repair bills," Claudia added. Nat and the others simply nodded, the teens understanding the young couples concerns but thankful they weren't in any trouble. It was Connor now who stood, slowly approaching the two women. "Mika, Claudia," he said. "Can I talk with you?"

"Whats on your mind Connor," Mika asked. Connor fidgeted in place slightly, his eyes now lingering on Aaron. The young boy had shifted back into human form. "Its about Aaron," he said.

"Did he do something wrong," Mika asked.

"No, no, quite the opposite," Connor said quickly. "No, actually he saved my life. I um I was surprised by that. All three if your kids are incredibly brave for being so young."

"Yeah they surprise me too," Claudia stated with pride. "It's amazing honestly, they're only 3 and 4 years old. I've never heard of kids being that fearless at that age."

"Well the thing is this," Connor stated, rubbing the back of his neck. "Thwres a tradition amongst hunters. If someone saves a hunters life in battle, that hunter has the option of training that individual in the ways of demon hunting. You know as like, a token of appreciation. I'd like to do that for Aaron."

"Hold on," Mika gawked. "You want to teach my 3 year old son how to kill demons?!" Connor nodded, Mika appeared flummoxed as she gazed at her son. Aaron was very different from his twin sister. The boy was quiet, kept to himself, usually didn't like playing with other kids at daycare. Mika and Claudia worried about him, wondering if his shyness had an underlying problem. It was hard to say, especially when his twin sister was so hyperactive. As she looked to speak, it was Claudia who now reached out and took her hand.

"It makes sense," Claudia said softly. "And think about it? Remember when we saw the kids? When they came back to the past. We saw how Aaron was dressed, how he carried himself, the amount of guns he had strapped to his body."

"Wait are you telling me the Aaron we met from the future was already a demon hunter," Mika exclaimed.

"I'm sorry future Aaron," Rei asked.

"Few years back Aaron and Haley traveled back in time," Claudia started, much to the teens surprise. "When we met Aaron he was dressed in a duster and loaded down with enough firearms to supply a small army. We thought he was just really into anime or something."

"But what if that wasnt it," Mika added. "What if he was already training to be a demon hunter? I mean you heard them. They had to stay tight lipped about the future."

"Especially if we hadn't even met the Morelands yet," Claudia said. Connor gazed at the two women in utter confusion. Time travel? Future hunters? All he wanted was to honor the kid that saved him by taking him on as his apprentice. "Umm I'm so confused," he said.

"Yeah time travel does that," Claudia sighed. A small smile now spread across her face as she picked up her son. Approaching Connor, she now sat the boy in the teens lap before placing a hand on his shoulder. "Pretty sure we've already agreed on yes," she smiled. "And from what I saw from my future son. You're one hell of a teacher Connor Moreland."

Connor nodded, gazing at the shy young boy now sitting in his lap. He may have never met the future Aaron but it appeared he and Caleb would mold a very capable hunter.
