Summer goes off into her private area, leaving you alone. You are quite happy to have gotten the job, even if it is not your dream job. After all, your desire is just to make it through art school while taking care of your little sister a little. Surely that's more than understandable, right? You do hope you'll get along with Summer, now that you have landed this job. The store is quite strange but it's employment nonetheless. At least, it nice of Summer to give you a chance. Hopefully it will all go smoothly and you'll make enough money to pay for college and your little sisters' pony toys once in a while. And maybe some extra, who knows?
"I'm back!" said happily Summer as she reemerged at the counter. "Here you go!"
She puts into your hand an old-fashioned oriental lamp.
"Er... Thanks, but... What do you want me to do with this thing?..." you stammer, startled.
Is it your first task? To clean it or dust it or put some shining product on its surface?
"Just wait," says Summer.
Then, as you stare and look at the object, your hand slightly slide over it, releasing a puff of smoke. From it emerges a green creature looking still vague human.
"What shall it be this time, master?" it says in a deep voice.
"You... You grant wishes?" you ask in awe.
"No. Mine. Only mine," says Summer. "This genie is at my constant and eternal service. He will change you as I see appropriate so you can fit your new job."
