After getting everything ready for the soccer game, Ethan heads into the house and enters the kitchen to get himself a glass of water. As he enters the kitchen, he notices Jeff’s phone on the counter, Ethan is a very curious boy, so he decides to see if Jeff has some cool games on his phone. Ethan picks up the phone and boots it up, he raises an eyebrow, “why is it not password protected,” he asks himself, he then shrugs, “I guess Jeff is simply to trustworthy”.
Ethan looks through Jeff’s Apps, checking what kind of games his neighbor has, he then notices an App called “The Chronivac”, “hmmm… sounds like a game,” he says to himself, “I never heard of it before, probably some sort of a “big boy” game”. Ethan grins, “well… if it is a big boy game, I got to have it,” he says, “Jeff will be out any minute, so I can not check the game out, but if I copy it over to my phone, I can check it out any time”. So the 12 year-old pulls out his own phone and activates his Bluetooth, he then presses on the “game” until a window with selections appears: deinstall, send/share, update,… . Ethan selects send/share, he is then asked how he’d wish to send/share the App, the boy selects “Bluetooth” and once Jeff’s Bluetooth list opens he selects his phone.
When he confirms his selection, Ethan feels his phone vibrate as a message telling him that someone wants to share an App with him, and he accepts it. After two minutes, Ethan has an exact copy of the “game”, smiling to himself, he sends Jeff’s phone back into sleep-mode and puts it back on the counter, not a second to late as he hears the door to the bathroom open and Jeff soon enters the kitchen.
“Hey, Jeff,” Ethan says, “what kept you?”
“I had a big… um… “job” to do,” he says.
Ethan chuckles, as he grabs a glass and fills it with water, “okay, okay,” he says, he takes a sip of the water, “we have everything set up. Let’s not keep Bryan waiting,” so they head into the back yard. ‘I’ll check out the game later,’ Ethan thinks to himself, ‘I’m in no rush’.
The boys play a few rounds, until it starts to get dark, “okay, let’s head inside,” Jeff says, “time for you two to get ready for bed”.
“Aaaw… maaaan,” Bryan whines.
“We don’t want to go to bed yet,” Ethan replies.
“Tell you what,” Jeff says, “you two get yourselves ready for bed, then we’ll order a Pizza and watch a movie together”.
The eyes of the two boys light up, “deal,” they both say and hurry into the house.
Jeff chuckles as he follows, “what sort of Pizza do you guys want?”
“I want a Ham Pizza,” Ethan says.
“I want a Salami Pizza,” Bryan answers.
“Okay, I’ll get the order out,” Jeff says, after placing the order, Jeff heads up into the nursery to check on the baby and give her her evening bottle. When he returns back to the living room, he finds Bryan and Ethan sitting on the couch, “so, what movie would you like to see,” he asks.
“We decided to watch the new Aladdin movie,” Bryan says.
“Sounds good,” Jeff replies, he then sits between the two boys and they all wait for the Pizza to arrive.
Ethan has his phone out and is reading through the manual of what he still thinks is a game, ‘cool, a game about transformations,’ he thinks to himself, ‘I can scan anyone or anything and use options in this game to change the appearance of who ever or whatever I scanned’. Ethan decides to scan himself, his brother and the sleeping baby, ‘hm… who should I change first? I could change my sister or brother… or Jeff,’ he thinks to himself.
