Princess Kellette brushed her beautiful blonde hair, smiling at her reflection in the mirror. She was not as skilled with magic as Lysabel, but she was better than Liira. And she knew what she needed to know, namely, the spells to increase her beauty. She silently cast a spell to make her brush work on its own. While it brushed her hair, she began to apply perfumes. The door to her room slammed open.
"Tassette, what a nice surprise," Kellette said. Tassette had red hair and blue eyes, while Kellette was blonde and gray-eyed, but other than that, they looked the same. Kellette used to cast simple illusions when they were children to make them appear as the other.
"That is not my name," Tassette growled. "And despite what you may think, your name is not Kellette."
"Then what are our true names?" Kellette asked, deciding to humor her sister.
"Kellan and Tassian."
"Kellan and Tassian?" Kellette said, amused. She laughed. "Those are male names."
"We are supposed to be male," Tassette said firmly. "Yet it seems only I and Ranulf remember."
"You mean Ranelle?" Kellette asked. Ranelle was the third oldest octuplet, a powerful blue-eyed witch who specialized in mind magics. "You know she likes to play with the head. She may have magicked you."
"No, she- he-" Tassette grunted in frustration.
"Calm down. Stress will give you wrinkles. What would your betrothed say?" Kellette said smoothly. Tassette was the only octuplet with a fiance so far, the handsome Crown Prince of Estrellia, Julio. "Sit. Let me check for enchantments upon you."
"Ugh. Fine." Tassette sat on a stool next to Kellette. Her bountiful bust, the largest of the octuplets' (and probably the reason she was already betrothed), bounced with every movement. Thanks to the low-cut dresses she favored, her breasts constantly seemed about to fall out of her gown. "Check yourself for an enchantment as well."
"If you insist." Kellette carefully held her hands up. She muttered the magical words under her breath and waved her hands in front of Tassette. After a few moments, the spell completed.
