Sometimes, no matter how much planning goes into things, things can still veer comically off base, whether they go disastrously wrong or unexpectedly right. The biggest thing that was the best example was the international furry convention that had been held in Las Vegas. While it was more like a biannual/triannual thing that was held in different places around the world, this year it had been held in Las Vegas, and since Lyre had originally been a "cooldown town" for those who wanted to recover after partying in Las Vegas before the coming of Animalia, it was inevitable that "furries" would come to undergo conversion. However, this was causing more than a few hilarious headaches, especially since it was an international one.

One of the best examples of this was an indirect result of a few separate things going on at this time. With May being the last month in the school year, many students, college or otherwise, were beginning studying for finals. However, those students who were graduating this summer were wrapping up their studies.
Because of that, a group of college students who were graduating from Las Vegas requested a very unusual conversion.
"They want to do a 'group conversion' as an orgy?" said the first Horizon scientist, remembering all too well the Seven-on-Four night, as well as "Mr. D.'s House Party", where "group conversions" ended up causing massive amounts of property damage, which was one of the reasons why people administering their own doses weren't allowed anymore.
"Well, at least they asked first." said the second scientist, who also remembered those two nights. "Also, ever since those nights, a new 'party room' had been in development to prevent such damage. Also, they said that they're not having their 'party' until after they graduate."
"At least there's that." confirmed the first scientist.

Another thing that was going on was the prep for the 2023 International Animalia Convention, which actually had nothing to do with the original "furry convention" in Las Vegas. While the biggest things would be the IAC Games and the IAC Martial Arts Tournament, there was another thing that was skyrocketing in popularity, partly due to the internet as a whole.
"Ela Sha" and her group of "underground fighter" women had finished undergoing conversion, resulting in a "motley crew" of species. But her unexpected "face off" with Molly had drawn more attention to the "female branch" of the UFC-A, as it was known on the Animalia Website. While most of the original attention had been on the males, "Ela Sha" and Molly helped generate a lot more attention, though as usual, it wasn't always good attention. However, most of the negative attention came from the usual "feminist lefts", "religious rights", and a few "internet weirdos", so they were generally ignored or clapbacked by others.

One thing that was unexpected, but came from something else entirely, came from the addition of "Bara Houses" to Animalia and its colonies. Because homosexuality was considered an "essential part of the furry community", "Bara Houses" were the newest "member" of Animalia, so to speak. There was also a "Bara House" being set up in the cruise ship being donated to Mieni Atoll, though most homosexual men who underwent conversion (mainly for the more "masculine" sea creatures such as sharks, orcas, etc.) were content, for now, to sleep under the stars.
