Hannah read her card aloud.
Your legs are gone to parts unknown
And Tom is acting as your throne.
But don't despair for your small plight
For you'll soon gain the gift of flight.
In all honesty, Hannah didn't mind being permanently attached to Tom. They were literally closer than they ever had been before. Her only regret was that they couldn't see face to face.
Then she felt a tugging at her back. Her shirt started to feel tight, and the collar was beginning to choke her neck. As she pulled it over her head, her arms brushed something behind her back. Feeling around, she discovered two large, flat wings extending from her shoulder blades. They were silky to the touch, and kept growing until they were three times as wide as she was. She could see her friends gawking at her, and wondered exactly what her wings looked like.
"Wow, Hannah," Sue said. "They're beautiful!"
Very curious, Hannah craned her neck and attempted to move one wing forward so that she could see it. It was a gigantic butterfly wing, with colorful swirly patterns of pink, purple and light blue. They were indeed a pleasure to look at. They seemed as if they were large enough to lift not only herself, but all of Tom's weight as well. Their tips were high enough to graze the ceiling, after all.
Finally realizing that she had taken off her shirt, Hannah was now feeling glad she hadn't given her bra to Sue after she had grown an extra pair of breasts.
"It's too bad you're stuck in this cramped room," Terry said. "You guys could have some fun." It was clear Terry wished he had more of an opportunity to flex his own bat wings. Aside from the short period where he was a full bat and small enough to fly around the room unencumbered, he hadn't flown at all.
"Okay Sue," Tom said as he watched her pick up the dice. "Ready to win this thing?"
"Here's hoping," Sue responded. She needed to roll a seven or higher to reach the lamp. Looking at the other spaces ahead of her, she noticed they were all regular draw-a-card spaces or yellow transformation-enhancing spaces. There would be no more chances to reverse transformations. Plus, Tom still had to beat her roll to avoid one final transformation before the game ended for good. Sue took a deep breath and rolled the dice.
