In a small town in northern California, a new company called “Automated Animal Grooming” opens it’s very first store. The store runs fully automatic without needing any employees, the Headquarters of the company is located in New York. The design of this animal and pet grooming place is simple, it looks just like your average barber, how it works is also simple: on the doors there is a code panel with a red and green light above it, the green light has the word “free” and the red light the word “occupied”. When the light is green you type in the four digit code, which is displayed on a small screen, the code will reset itself once the next costumer is allowed to enter. Once inside, there is just a huge room with bright white ceilings, floor and walls, the walls have holes where the robot arms are hidden. You set what ever animal you brought, be it a dog, cat, Lizard, Horse, Cow,… in the middle of the room, then you walk over to a wall, which has a touch pad, there you choose first the type of animal, then the breed and finally what exactly you want the machine to do: give your animal just a bath, give it a “haircut”, or anything that comes to mind.
During the night, on the night before the grand opening, something unexpectedly happens: the large computer, which controls the whole machine, detects some sort of malicious software, like a malware or virus, the computer immediately sends an error and alert message to the HQ, but it will take a while until someone would receive it, so on the day of the grand opening, no one has any idea of the danger. The malicious program, which installed itself on the main computer, affects the whole system, this causes the system to mistake the OWNER of the animal to be the animal which needs the grooming. When the machine realizes that the "animal" is somehow different, when the sensors do not detect anything "animal" on the targeted "animal", it will try and "fix" the "error"!
