Once the boy had recovered, the lifeguard returned him to his parents before dispersing the small crowd of onlookers, including yourself. Just as you were leaving, though, she caught your arm.
"Hey, I noticed you were running over to help, too. You have good instincts. Ever thought of becoming a lifeguard? We could use a few more."
For a second, you just stared. Everything had been happening all at once, so you had not gotten a good view of the lifeguard before. Now with her standing in front of you, you finally could see just how ravishing she was. With her stunning mane of wavy blonde hair, blue eyes, and great figure, she would have looked great running in slow motion on a TV show.
With great effort, you recovered your senses. "Well, I don't know. Are you sure?"
The blonde grabbed your hand. "Oh yes! Me and the girls could use the help. Please, sign up!"
Girls? There were more of these beauties? Your resistance crumbled. "Ah, sure, I guess. I was looking for a summer job anyway."
The girl squealed happily and bounced a bit, causing another rather distracting bounce in her cleavage. You only hoped you could even get any work done in this job.
"C'mon, let's get you a uniform!" The lifeguard said. "So, what's your name? Got any experience with this kinda thing?"
You answered her questions while following her to the lifeguard station. One thing struck you as odd. "Um, shouldn't you have asked me these things before giving me this job? You didn't even asked if I had any relevant skills."
"Well, you'll get the skills and stuff in a bit. It's the instinct that really counts."
You frowned in confusion. Skills and "stuff" came afterwards? Was there on-the-job training?
Climbing the broad ramp into the station, the lifeguard opened a cabinet and took out a folded red square that must be the swimsuit. "Here ya go. You can change in here. I'll give you some privacy."
Pulling down shades over the windows, she stepped out and closed the door. With a sigh, you decided to get changed. Slowly, you unfolded the swimsuit.
