The Junior High School Principal droned on and on about the previous week's wolf mauling, at some point an animal control specialist was brought in to warn the students about the dangers of a wild wolf pack and what they should do, while also assuring them that every possible measure was being taken to keep them safe. All of it bored Kaida as she sat next to her Alpha and Delta, in her hands was the flyer for the dance at the end of the week. The "Harvest Homecoming Dance" as it was billed, nothing as special as a high school home coming but for Kaida it was her first ever school dance, and she did not have a date.
"There will be councilors available to talk for the rest of the week if you need them, everyone please go to your second period classes." The Principal announced as everyone rose.
"As long as we are all smart, this will blow over." Shannon whispered walking out with her pack while Kaida slowed her pace until Anna finally took notice.
"You know you are going to be late for class." Anna spoke up as Kaida looked down at the flyer in her hands.
The two stood in silence, all around them students moved but for Kaida the two of them could be in the middle of a desert. "Are you planning to go to a dance on Friday?" She asked timidly, her heart leapt into her throat and her nails sharpened slightly, digging into the paper in her hands.
Anna cocked her head at the question and gave a small shrug. "Well all the boys I knew don't want to date a girl who is flat as a board so.." Her voice failed off as she ran her fingers over her chest. She lowered her head and then looked back up at Kaida, her memories of the wolf kiss the night before flashing before her mind. "Are you going?"
The question just doubled the pressure placed on Kaida, her mouth moved for a second but nothing came out as she fumbled to find the right words. "I mean if you go, I would go." She finally mumbled, her face becoming several shades of red as she suddenly found her shoes and the floor to be the most interesting thing in the world and not matching Anna's eyes. "We could dance.." Her voice trailed off suddenly as Anna moved forward.
The small lithe delta brushed past her superior wolf, her hand brushing against Kaida's. "You could give me a proper kiss." Anna added her voice a slight whisper that only a wolf could hear.
Kaida gasped, her cheeks warming brightly, a soft growl coming to her lips. "I would like that."
"So would I.." Anna whispered in return continuing her way to class, not bothering to look behind herself. For the first time since she turned she felt like her old self, she felt stronger, self assured, but most of all, she felt loved.
