Pulling the blinds of the cabin tight, Laura glared at her grown down companions with all the ferocity her 16 year old features could muster. Thankfully said companions were only 10, 8, and 7 meaning her expression of annoyance was proving to be quite effective. "Everyone sit down NOW!"
Christine, Maria, and Julia now complied, the children clamoring onto benches as they anxiously looked to Laura. Things had become more complicated than they should be. Laura was only 16 now, still a minor as far as the world was concerned but much better off than the others. Of the three children, only Maria had clothing that actually fit. Both Julia and Christine were clothed only in overly large shirts, which covered their hands and socks that hung off their diminutive feet. Laura wasn't sure if either girl was still sporting underwear but she had no desire to find out.
"This is not fair," Maria whined. "You should've been little too!" Laura scowled, her anger rising far quicker than it should as she looked at the fourth grader. "Yeah like making Christine eight was real fair," she huffed. "If you two twerps hadn't stolen the dice to begin with we wouldn't be in this mess."
Maria huffed, the girl furrowing her brow as she glared at the teen. For Laura she felt like she was babysitting a rather obnoxious child. "I'm not a twerp," Maria huffed.
"Fine dweeb then!"
"I am not a dweeb," Maria yelled. "You're being mean!"
Laura smirked, seeing that her childish insults had hurt the girl. A part of her now realized just how idiotic this was, getting into a verbal jousting match with a 10 year old thief. The four of them were in real trouble. They were all much younger than they wanted, another few rolls could cost them more years than they currently possessed. What would happen if their ages dipped below zero?
"Okay look," Laura stated, hitching her large pants back up. "First things first, we have got to find some clothes that actually fit. Judy and Christine can't run around with no pants and I so don't want to moon everyone we walk by."
"Sounds like a good idea," Christine said softly. "Should we come with you?"
"Uh no," Laura scoffed. "I can move quicker if I'm by myself. Besides, someone might say something if they saw a little kid walking around half dressed."
"I can't stay here with these two," Christine exclaimed. "What...what if they try and hurt me? What if they steal the dice again and make me even younger!" Laura glanced at the girl, Christine's eyes were filled with fear. It seemed that the younger she became the more out of control her emotions were becoming. Were the dice affecting them not only physically but mentally?
"Christine it will be okay," Laura said softly, trying to soothe the grown down adults apprehension. "I won't be long and I'll have the dice with me so no one will get any younger. Okay?" This seemed to put the girl at ease. Christine sniffed, wiping her nose on her too long sleeve before nodding.
"Okay so I'm going to find something for us to wear and come back okay," Laura said. The girls nodded in response, Laura now looking to leave before she felt a small tug on her shirt. Glancing backwards she now found herself staring into the cherubic face of Julia. "What is it Julia?"
"I have to go potty," she whimpered. Laura sighed, this was going to be alot harder than she thought.
