"Wrong? No, these are perfect for next week's jazz ball! Look at this flapper dress isn't it gorgeous!" Katie was holding up a beaded dark green dress.
"Yeah! I'd like to see you wearing that!" said John enthusiastically.
"Nice as this is I doubt I could fit into it...... I wonder if they have something silimalar in my size" said Katie as she started going through the items in the '20's' rack.
"Actually Miss, that dress would look lovely on you. It matches your eyes" said the sales woman.
"It's made for a waif unfortunately"
'Oh no! All our items are magical. They have built in adjustment. Why don't you try it on?"
"Really?" Katie was interested "Surely you jest?"
"I do not. And your timing is good. We have a sale on. Two garments for the price of one just for this afternoon" The woman smiled then pointed to a curtain "We have a change area in there" Katie took the green dress and a cream coloured dress of a similar style and went where the woman was pointing.
Katie returned several minutes later in the green dress. She had a huge grin on her face. "Look John! this is wonderful! It fits like a glove and it makes me look like I have an hourglass figure!"
John was impressed "Wow! You look fantastic!" It was true Katie did.
"So will you be taking both dresses?" asked the sales woman.
"Oh yeah!" replied Katie.
Another 5 minutes later Katie was back in her normal clothes and purchased the garments. Katie also purchased a feathered headband and long matching silk gloves. These accessories were also under a 2 for 1 offer so Katie and got two headbands and two sets of gloves. The young couple left the store quite happy. The sales woman had been unable to persuade John to purchase a 20's style suit. "I already have a suit that will work just fine" he replied. John was on a budget and couldn't afford a new costume every time they attended a re-enactment.
