Shannon watched from the operating table as the doctor went about his business making phone calls and preparing for their trip. Werebears she could deal with, even werebirds, but now there were talk of even more mythical creatures, weredragons! When she was a child she dreamed of mermaids and unicorns, she kind of wondered if they existed too, then again she feared that mermaids could be creatures with mouths full of fangs instead of the beautiful sea creatures the cartoons made them out to be.
She noticed the doctor prepare an injection of clear liquid which brought her quickly back to reality. "What are you doing?" She demanded, stepping foot on the cold tile floor. Doctor Mark ignored her and tapped the syringe, making sure there were no air bubbles before moving toward Noah's sleeping form. "I said what are you doing!" She growled in anger, grabbing his arm before he could inject the boy.
"Relax." Doctor Mark said calmly turning to look at her with reassuring eyes. "The Dragons are very secretive creatures, the boy is not a were, this will just be a simple injection that affects his short term memory, he won't be able to make connections between the faces he has seen and anyone he has met in the past."
Shannon's relaxed her grip as Doctor Mark pressed the needle into Noah's upper arm and pressed the plunger in. "Does this mean if he sees me as a human, he won't recognize me from school? He wont recognize any of us? Anna? Kaida?" Her lips quivered, a part of her felt reassured, one less thing to worry about on the road trip, another part of her felt saddened, she wanted to tell him so badly.
"The weredragons are powerful, if they will it, they will remove it from his system, otherwise by Friday he won't be able to remember the faces of anyone that was in the van with."

Shannon sat cross-legged in front of the strange girl, she had changed back and without her fur the cold mountain wind was beginning to chill her body. Her body had broken out in a rash of goosebumps, and her nipples had grown painfully erect, but she did her best to hide her discomfort from the girl, she wanted to project herself as a proud Alpha able to withstand any environment. "I was with a boy one day, I am not really sure who he was, I think he was my babysitter." She scrunched her nose, the memories right before her first transformation were so hazy now. "I think his name was Joey."
She shook her head and rubbed her eyes, trying to will the memories out. "We were arguing that.. I had become younger but... that doesn't seem right, I was always this age, and then... and then... I started changing and I ran off..." Tears began to run down Shannon's cheeks as she tried to force the memories. "I felt a need to find a pack, and that is when I found the other girls, I changed them, and then.."
The strange girl held up a finger as to stop Shannon, giving her a moment of reprieve and allowing Shannon to wipe the tears away. "You were not born a werewolf or bitten correct? It all started suddenly when you were talking to this Joey?" She asked curiously, her eyes deepening. "Tell me about this Joey."
Shannon's eyes grew distant as she tried to remember his face, but every time she tried to concentrate on specifics, his eyes, his hair, his clothes, the image grew fuzzy, like a out of sync live youtube video. "He had a ring, I remember that, he had a really expensive looking ring on his hand."
The girl's eyes widened as she leapt forward, grabbing Shannon's shoulders. "A gold ring?"
Shannon pulled back, nodding slightly. The strange girl stood and seemed to collect herself, taking a moment to take a deep breath and roll her shoulders. "I see, things have become a lot more complicated, none the matter, it is time for your test Shannon." She began
Shannon stood slowly, pulling on every ounce of resolve she had left in her, the next few moments were a matter of life or death for her pack, for Noah. "I'm ready."
