Charles and Celine led Stacy to the doors of the council chamber. Celine used the golden knocker, which made a strangely melodious and delicate sound for its size. The door opened, revealing an angel with raven wings and a silvery beard. Oddly, his face had no eyes in it. Instead, a golden orb studded with a sapphire circled around his head in place of a traditional halo. He was dressed in the simple robes of a traveler.
"Lord Odin!" Celine said. "We need to speak to the council at once!"
"Is it as I saw in the visions, Priestess Celine?" Odin asked, stroking his silver beard. "Has a new Custodia Ordinis arisen?"
"It seems like it, Lord Odin," Charles said. "It's my fiancee. We have her here." He turned to Stacy. "Stacy, this is Lord Odin Wayweary. He's been one of Heaven's most trusted counselors since the last creation when Jehovah's father Anu was god."
"I have been waiting for this," Odin said as he approached Stacy. "I have already lived through one apocalypse. Another one wants to come. It has many names, from Armageddon to Ragnarök. Whatever you call it, it means nothing less than the triumph of Chaos, the day when all creation sinks back into the primeval waters. But it can be prevented. You, I think, shall be key, I have foreseen it. You are destined to take up Ki's sword."
"Ki?" asked Stacy.
"King Jehovah's mother," Charles explained. "She was the last Custodia Ordinis. I owe Her my life. It happened in the year 1702. Celine and I were playing in the mountains outside of the cities. Dad had taken us there on an outing. I was 15, and Celine was 5. Abrielle wouldn't be born for centuries. Suddenly, we were attacked by this inky... thing. A ward must have broken somehow. Dad drew his sword to defend us, and he held it off for a while. But even the Archangel Michael cannot hold off a major Chaos being forever."
"So Dad prayed, hoping Ki would hear him. She did, and She eventually made it to his side. Ki slew the eldritch entity, but the wounds She sustained claimed Her life. Her spirit now infuses the creation She dedicated Her life to protecting."
"And that duty is now yours," Odin said.
"That's why we need to speak to the council at once," said Charles.
"I'll need some time to gather them," said Odin. "Metatron and Sandalphon are both in Arcadia investigating a weakened anti-Chaos ward, for example. In the meantime, you can finish Stacy's initiation and ease her into angelic life." Odin then flew off on his raven wings in search of the council.
"You do still need to pledge allegiance to Heaven and the Light, as well as receive your Heavenly name."
