Stacy's Vows and Nergal's Plotting

added 2 years ago O Mythological

The priest placed a hand on Stacy’s shoulders. "Do you proclaim yourself an angel?"

"I do," she responds.

"Do you give your allegiance to the Kingdom of Heaven?"

"Yes."

"Do you accept Jehovah as your Lord?"

"Yes."

"Do you renounce all other masters?"

"So long as my master serves nature," Stacy answered flatly; this raised an eyebrow from the priest was otherwise an acceptable answer.

"Do you henceforth give yourself over to the worship cosmic Creation?"

"As it is the driving force of nature, then yes," Stacy gave her answer.

"Then I welcome you to the Kingdom of Heaven and bestow upon you the name Gaia, the priest said. “A fitting name for one who protects and fights for nature. You are now officially and angel.”

Sitting in his office within the Ninth Circle of Hell, Lord Nergal Deathfire looks at his trusted agents with disdain. He did not like the fact that they want to be reassigned from guarding Heka and Qesem at their cave within the Second Circle, a task they were ordered to perform after Jahi managed to fight her way out before the foul witches could complete the ritual on her.

“Toss us into the lake of fire if you want,” on demon pleaded. “We want no part in what those two are doing.”

“Heka and Qesem are doing our master's bidding,” Nergal said, looking at the two agents with an unamused expression. “They are building an army to break through the gates of Heaven and claim the throne of Jehovah.” Nergal lied with that last part. No need to tell them the truth, Nergal thought.

“And just who is our master?” the demon agent asked. “With Beelzebub dead and Adrammelech in hiding, all that leaves is you.”

“If you are refusing your assignment,” Nergal sighs, “then you can head here.” Nergal opened a portal. “Our master is here. He will give you further instructions.”

“So long as it’s not what those witches are up to,” one agent commented. “It’s one thing to enslave an adult. It’s another to butcher a youngling.”

“Or one that has yet to be born,” the second demon shuddered. “some magics are best left not messed with.”

Both walk through the portal and Nergal immediately closes it. He opened another portal to see Beelzebub.

“I have two agents heading your way,” Nergal nodded to Beelzebub. “They need to be dealt with as they refuse to assist Heka and Qesem.”

“And why send them here?” Beelzebub looked unamused. “Why not just slit their throats to ensure their silence?”

“Because they would be more useful tools,” Nergal gave a sly smile, “if they are like Adrammelech.”

“I already have seven Chaos shades,” Beelzebub scoffed. "Adrammelech, Loki, Pazuzu, and all but one of Lamashtu's human-born concubines are thralls of Chaos."

“Doesn’t hurt to have a few spares,” Nergal responded, “as an insurance policy.”

“You presume too much, Nergal,” Beelzebub snapped back before pondering Nergal’s words. “Still it’s not a bad idea. We risk being overpowered by our own allies, but it DOES grow our power over our enemies. And it could solve the issue with ensuring Heka and Qesem no longer have their guests escape with Chaos shades providing sentry.”

“Then you approve of my suggestion,” Nergal bowed.

“It’s not as if I have a choice,” Beelzebub grumbed. “Loki’s blood failed to create a new ward to allow me access to Chaos energy which means those two need to be allowed to continue their work in secret.”

“Then I would advise that they stop abducting members of the Morningstar clan,” Nergal commented. “Already Lucifer suspects something and has Enoch looking into it. I could not stop him and after the purposely planned failed assassination with the Iron Knights,” Nergal sighed “Lucifer is even more determined to root out what is going on. I do not have the gift you had,” Nergal sounded contrite, “the ability to whisper honeyed words into his ear.”

“Ha,” Beelzebub grinned. “You speak the truth on that. “Very well, I’ll advise Heka and Qesem to refrain from absconding more of the Morningstar clan, powerful though their blood may be. We do have other sources to draw upon.”

Nergal watched as the communication portal closed. Sighing, he got up to leave his office before pausing to collect a charred document he discovered in Lucifer’s study.

“Proposition 13666 by Princess Lamashtu Morningstar,” Nergal chuckled. “To think all those times I called you a half-breed. And you come up with a proposal that the hardliners could not resist. I’ll just make certain my darling Laz has a good read and help her make a few adjustments. Adjustments that will give this proposal the teeth it deserves.”

Nergal smiles as he opens a portal to his estate, confident that things are looking up for a change.
